like I said, cpi higher than expected, housing starts lower.

Going to be a real pickle of a decision about what to do if you are a stock market bull.:

Normally yes, but that piss-poor housing number is going to encourage the rate-cut fan club.

I expect a very mixed stock market today. It will open higher, but may range or drop after opening.

It's the core CPI that is significant.. the regular CPI is affected by energy/oil prices.. which deviate a lot.. so usually that is not taken into consideration. Core CPI is unchanged.. and housing starts are lower..

Let's see what the DOW does.

When your scalping, do you use the 1,10 & 14 c mom's (lined up) method? does that work the same then? Also, does one ever over rule the other like rsi in larger TF's usually over rule the smaller TF's

Yes, it's simple math here:

1h=4x15m
so 100SMA@h1 = 4x100SMA@m15

no backtesting needed

What will affect the stock market the most ?
Very poor housing data ? = Down ?
Flat CPI ? = Down or

Big boys positive earnings report ? = Up ?

Hmmmm...not too much of an effect... I guess I'll wait for the markets to open in the US

I'm thinking markets will start heading down and end the day up and likewise with G/J during the US trading time

I don't think the market really buys into the core CPI bull anymore. I believe headline CPI is what moves the market.

If the housing starts weren't so bad, I would expect the stock market to be all over it and jump up. However, those numbers are not a good sign for the economy, so it could hurt the market. Like you said, lets see what happens.

I have a long setup for 4h/1h trade.
It looks nice, however, as Aus said this early morning, there is strong bearish momentums. So my question is should we forfeit this entry?

I don't scalp, most of my trades go for 50+ pips, I trade mostly based on 1h/4h and whenever I see a good opportunity on 15m with the confirmation of auslanco's 15m trade. I use only 1 momentum and that's 10C, ofcourse larger TF's rule over smaller one's, even when we're talking about momentum.

I see those house numbers came out not that bad either. It may consider it be good in current situation. Please correct me if wrong. US treasuries is down, but Japanese's closed the day even weaker. Did warn everyone last nite.
