Howdy

I'm new enough to trading that I'm concerned about this G7 meeting. Do people expect much volatility during this period? Or expect liquididty to dry up appreciably?

Most of my trades are short on the USD and I'm tempted to take some of the rather health profits I've got sitting in them a few days ahead of the meeting. As counter to that, my stretegy doesn't directly give me an exit, it just stops me entering the market during highly volatile times. I usually (due to lack of long term experience) try and keep rather strictly to my plan.

The truth is this: Nobody can really say what will come of it. Unless you are a mind reader, it's a shot in the dark.

Sticking to your plan shows more experience than you know. As far as taking profits, maybe it is getting close to the time you will want to take some of the pips off the table. However, it is ultimately your decision. If you are nervous about being in the market, then at least make sure you cannot lose money....at least keep everything at break-even. But giving away your money is hard too......so only you can answer this question. I am sorry.

Thanks for the feed back. I already had most of my stops to break even. I put the only one that wasn't as close as I could. However the recent spike in the USD and following drop in carry currencies stopped me out of all my positions.
I've made a good percent for this month so I might just watch and learn for the rest of it.

I THINK that the G7 meeting will affect the USD negatively; I guess we'll have to wait and see.

not sure what will happen. it can massively affect the market if they mutter their various nonsenses :-)
