.I'll try to answer. I think he means AT (Automated Trading). Because TA means Technical Analysis, and no one in his right mind would come in this forum and say that

TA is Technical Analysis
My sister and law and... which is much worse ... her husband are here tonight. Fortunately there is a soccer qualifier today: Ireland vs. Germany and I can watch that with/(out) him. LOL. The break is just over, but I wanted to take a look at your results!!

I'm almost done testing gbpusd (30 min and 1H) and will post results shortly.
In the meantime, these numbers keep bugging me. That's the really bad results I got a while back on the very short TFs (here 5 mins). These are for dot-to-dot. Using filters was also bad, but a bit less.
Initial capital was $10,000 and tests were from jan 1 to aug 31 2007. Have a look.

As you can see, they're all in heavily negative territory, with cadjpy having the least catastrophic fate @ $ -4642.97 and thus still surviving after 8 months along with a few others still hanging on, and then there's chfjpy, gbpusd, audjpy and gbpjpy completely dead, out of cash, bit the dust, gone with the wind @ approx. $ -9936.76 on average.
Of course, if we could get "rid" of them NEGATIVE signs, all would be well (and VERY well indeed). So here's what I'm thinking. I'm going to go play with the code, see, and have the bots do the reverse danse, ie: blue dot = sell and pink dot = buy (sounds weird) and see what happens.

Why do you guys still believe in TA? Do you have backtested? If Yes, how many years? Are they profitable? If yes, what is your expected YTD return?
From my experience, traditional TA wont work in FOREX.
