Attached is an EA I wrote to attach a parabolic trailing stop to any active order using the ticket number.

I just updated the code and haven't tested it, but it should be OK and might give you ideas.

Now that I can really see the picture, it is really easier to figure out, where the extra potential is hidden. And it is just an extra, as with thos relative drawdowns, there is really little risk involved in the system and EA right now!!

Qpip your very quiet, I'm sorry if I offended you with my disdain for backtesting. You are the Queen of these things. Me and the autobot backtester just don't see eye to eye.

One should be enough if it works! I will give it a try as the markets open - before that it might not really work. But who knows!
We have many threads in our hands now and with this immense productivity there will be a solution soon. I am flipping through the Excel-sheet on the other computer and there is even a positive effect if you look at the different pairs and their performance curve. This is by no means a hedged portfolio, but the overall risk seems to be deminished a bit by the "lame ducks".
Very nice !! I really think this will work for a long time.

I keep scratching my head on this one --> why was the bot so bad in may-june-july? I need to go visually check what was going on back then.

However the 3 "best" months were aug, jul, and march (in that order) so we can infer that this system works better in very volatile environments (but we knew that already)

So hmmmmm.......

Now, editing a post is somewhat akin to "putting on make-up" in my own opionion. So again, boys, please refrain from doing "girl" things (I can do it since I'm a girl tho) pffff

Guess the moves were very fast then and the longer timeframes lag too much. We will find out. But still the performance was ok so far!

We're all trying to improve the system, understand its weaknesses, optimize its output, correct its bad manners, fine-tune its intricate flaws, tweak its intimate curves, domesticate its beastial nature, reprogram its path-taking, regulate its behaviour, tame its numerical soul and basically squeeze it like an orange (which is all good, us being the Rulers of the Greedy Lowlands) BUT

I keep thinking and re-thinking (and re-re-thinking) about the fact that I'd be 15K richer right now had I just let the bots do their thing since jan for real. That's with risking only 1K. Amazing

Of course, the other thing I keep doing is ADDING DA ZERO. So, yea, 150K richer on a 10k risk (shaking head, shaking head WHERE'S THE SHAKING HEAD smiley?):surprised

Just had an idea.

Talking to myself here all alone tends to do that hehehehhe.

Now, what if, instead of backtesting the last 8 months, I backtested the last 8 years pouahahahahha. I've got data for most (not all tho grrrrrrr) pairs that go back to 1999 (=8 years, yeah right my nomination for math nobel is on the right path)

Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow morning. Also, I need to analyse why my forward tests for the past 2 weeks (real trading) outdid my last 2 week backtests. Results are very encouraging, but I need to understand why.

And (nb) although the "economic calendar" here at FF does NOT mention it , monday IS a holiday in Canada (thanksgiving). So madam will be available heh on monday as well.
