News Question

I am trying to find out where I can get economic indicator releases, as well as general economic news releases LIVE, when they come out. Pleae enlighten me.

have you looked forex factory- forex calender? didn't that suited for you?

I was looking for something that updates real-time and FREE, free has been the hard part, however I found a program called Trade The News, it is a live internet radio broadcast program, and has a week-long free demo. I would post the link here, however this was my very first post, and the forum won't let me. If you are interested and have a problem finding it, let me know. This is the first of its type I've found so I have no idea how it compares.

If anyone has anyother suggested programs that would be great.

I doubt you can find any better than forex factory for free.

For the price, Trade the news is quite good. its a few seconds behind reuters for example.

There is a new service I have heard about, it is not out yet but apparently they actully SMS's the numbers out and their calander is meant to be the best one on the internet........ Their words not mine I personally like this calander but apparently there will be a better one out soon lol we have to wait and see I guess.

The fastest way to get numbers is through

1) Bloomberg ($1700 m/o) or Reuters ($700 m/o): The are both in the same category because spped varies sometimes bloomberg gets the numbers faster sometimes reuters

2) TTN (not sure I think it ranges from $50 - $130) and Bloomberg radio (Free): They release the numbers at around the same time.

3) News Strike (Free): They are good and FREE but only do U.S release and they are a little slow

4) This sites calander is cool but for non major reports it take a while to update.

If you want to trqade news spikes as in enter the market when a news report is released you need Bloomberg or Reuters and even then it is hard to get in.

If you are trading new spikes anything less than Bloomberg or Reuters = gambling

and if your are trying to trade the spike you should check out the RSS

Aside from Forex Factory, detailed calendars can be found for free on many sites. If you are placing a "news trade" when the data is being released, you are probably too late unless you want to catch the usual bounce back with a tighter spread. Real time info is right there in front of you on your charts.

I haven't found a calander that is as user friendly as this one.... is there any?

Today FX Calendar is what I use to plan out my week. Bloomberg radio is good to listen to in the late/early US hours.
