Dislikedok its something like this: you have shorts being squezed out how do they exit? by going long then you have a certain percentage of those who stop and reverse double down if you will, thinking this will shoot up which it does!if you get in soon enough you can make most if not all of your losses back. now you have to exit you do this by selling are you with me? ok people like me who were long start to take profit we also do this by selling! now you have short time speculators looking to further squezze out the late longs who think this is "the movement" and they get hammered hope this makes senseIgnored
DislikedThat is a tough question to answer.
I have so many variations of trades and lot sizes that I am doing.
On an average good setup, I will let it go 8-10 against me, and usually will add an additional lot entry, this will cut my position in 1/2 (not a recommended trading strategy), then if it goes deeper and there is still a high probability of what I see happening, I will enter a third time with the same lot sizes as the first two.
The only difference is, once I enter the second or third entry, my target reduces, and often is near the first entry point.
Mathmatically, it works for me, and continues to work.
I have only used a third entry one time in the past several months, usually I am good with the second entry covering the drawdown and exiting my position in good profits.
Then if I get all three entries going against me, then there is a heavy loss, but if you trade the trend and enter the right times, you shouldn't have these come your way. (but they do - ouch)Ignored
DislikedOh boy, don't remind me of that. Once
If I hadn't added to my positions, I would have waited patiently.. but with 5 trades.. all losing.. I panicked and closed all of them. Soon as I closed, price started moving up.. and finally went to 234.20.Ignored
Dislikedmost pairs will drop 25 to 50 pips on this kind of move but this pair is a two-headed dragon and can easily retrace 75 to 100 pips no sweatIgnored

DislikedMates, you simply use a trading strategy like some of us use time to time like myself. But please remember there will be newbies reading these posts and when they try averaging, they will hold on to their losses and probably blow their accounts..... Averaging indeed is a very good technique if you know what you are doing and when to do it, but absolutely do not advise all traders to applyIgnored
DislikedAveraging is good only if you use less then 1% of your account .....
I use it because I only trade low volume compared to my account size.
If you use larger lots, its much better to take the loss and start over.
sometime the rally can be 500 pip in a day..... if you will lose your account with 200 pip movement, then better not try averaging..Ignored

DislikedHi 59, how did you get the 75-100 range (everyone uses different methods). I was looking at my Fib and pivots and what I have are double tops at 237.06 and my weekly pivot (WP) at 236.76 if this pair continues to be bullish.
It just hit the WP during the NY market and came down until the Asian market opened.Ignored
DislikedI went long on this dip. 15min is lookin' bullish. SL is the daily pivot. Any suggestions for a TP? Think it could go to 237.70?Ignored
DislikedOh boy, don't remind me of that. Once I went long GJ at 233.12.. then it started dropping, but I was confident it would go up. I kept averaging my position every 30 pips like a retard.
If I hadn't added to my positions, I would have waited patiently.. but with 5 trades.. all losing.. I panicked and closed all of them. Soon as I closed, price started moving up.. and finally went to 234.20.Ignored
DislikedI assume everyones SL got hit..Welcome back to the reality
I feel bad for Monarch since this was his first 15min strategy trade and it was a loss.Ignored
DislikedMate that was not for your offence. I can argue you with how much you should risk all day while averaging, when to use larger lots when yo add but this is not the place for it. I just say if newbies try this they will have their accounts blown.I indeed use an averaging technique for GBPJPY which every 3 years blowns. But with proper money management I still get my account bigger
