If it runs on a fresh chart - unused for other purposes so far and it is attached to the chart first time, then it cannot find old signals or data. It is a new world for it and it will only trade of a new signal. Has there been a new dot forming on the TF you are usinf so far?

Most other EAs do not have a template needed to get them moving. But here it is vital to the system and having the indicators inside the EA can really lead into trouble.

Yes these are all fresh charts and no new signals have formed yet. So i guess so far so good, nothing triggered yet.

I wonder if I do the back test right? I never thought I will trust an AE...but thanks to you guys I started to play with the idea !
But this looks so good that looks "spooky" to me :surprised...you know...to good to be true? so I wonder ...am I doing the back test correct?

P.S. starting balance $3000 and play with 1 standard lot...I know...of course I know better....but I just like to pretend :-)

Yes, this looks right to me. The testing phase is rather short, but the settings are right and I get close to that, when I try to repeat it.

Sure the part that "you know" would prevent you from doing that with real money, but you actually have a much larger relative drawdown than most of my settings produced.

And the amazing thing is, that until now still 40% of the possible pips are lost to late entry and even later exit. So here you have the potential of Supernova!

Gnat you are so funny... are you really planing to get them all ?or close to all :-) let us know when you find the HG set up ...It's hard to beleive we can catch them all :-)...actually I'm sure it's imposible...60-70% looks good to me...with 80% we'll hold the whole world in our hands sooner or latter...sooner...I just pray and hope that I don't wake up and see what's wrong with this set up/system

Hey, Gnat: The Damiani is a favorite indicator of several programmers in the TSD thread. Mr. Pip, for example, has used it. It is a filter that defines when the market is active enough to expect good things. I have seen posted the recommended settings of 10/60/1.4, but I think 10/50/1.1 is better.
I hope someone can refine this for us.

(this's the same post I posted to Qpip's journal earlier)

I just quickly tested GBPJPY on 4H from August 1st to 31st with last trade closed September 4th (weekend between). I took the trade on dot, lets say long and let it run until CCI28 went below 0-line. If it was already below 0 when took the trade I waited until it went over 0 and then crossed below it. If opposite dot appeared I took it too, so I was hedging at that time. I didn't take any other trades to same direction if one was open already. Results were much better than test I took few days ago.

Well I think I still need to adjust that thing a bit and do more and more testing but maybe there's something

Criss:

You will see three lines: two crossing and one at the bottom.
When the Green line passes north of the silver line, the red line at the bottom will no longer progress, meaning the market is now active enough to trade.
When the reverse of this occurs, and the red line reappears, the market has cooled, and no new trades should be taken.
The key is in the settings, and I am woefully inexperienced, so I will need some help from everyone finding the best settings.

hi, is there anyway to add "incremental stops" option in addition to the "trailing stops" in the "supernova" EA? I'm demoing it and i feel i am missing out on a lot pips with the trailing stops as oppose to an incremental stop. for example: i sell at 2.000 and the price moves down a 100 pips (btw my incremental stops would be 100 pips) to 1.900, at this point my stop would be at break even. the price fluctuates but doesn't hit my stop loss. Later price continues to move down to 1.800 and my stop loss moves to 1.900, guaranteeing me 100 pips in profit.

I guess that would be a good idea. In testing I have seen brilliant orders go bad, as they are taken i.e. on a daily chart into 400 pips profit, only to render 75 pips in the end as the exit signal comes in late. And even if we do not get more pips by that on the shorter timeframes, it may prevent the many short orders I have seen ending in losses from doing just that.
There are actually pips to be made on every signal. We only need to find a way to at least secure break even on the weak swings.
Thank you for the input. On the losing trades I found another system to lower the drawdown. Working on it now.

10 would be Vis ATR
50 would be Sed ATR
1.1 would be threshold

Defaults are 10, 20, 60, 100, 1.4
Soooo, I am fairly sure the settings cited refer to the ATR and threshold numbers.
We really need to consult someone who has played with this, but I can move the lower straight red line and the cross point by playing with these three numbers, to make it correspond to Sapimas Indicator.

BTW, Skyline's 007 is racking up the bucks across 11 pairs tonight. Cooooooooooooooooooooool ! I am going to send him two more pennies to add the CCI mod for entry and Exit. If you can, send him some dinero.

Moin, Winsteadglenn (sounds so much like Wessex, Enlgand to me) !

Which role is the Damiani playing in the EA right now? Is the indicator actively managing the exit? Or rather, would it be possible to use it for that in combo with the QQE? I guess I will have to learn a bit more about Senior Damiani.
I will get in touch with sky then. Taking some spaghetti sauce with me, as I go.

No, surely I am not trying to get them all . That would really be a little far fetched. Optimal entry and then optimal exit - a crystal ball can be hired from my favourite witch!
But with entry (only a little late still) and real exit on longer timeframes (fataly late on daily for instance) we are only covering 30% of the move on a regular basis! This late exit also explains, why now the H1 is less profitable than H4 although many many times the same trades are triggered.
Actually we seem to be aiming at the same wealth corridor here! Cool :-) If we regularly get 60% of a move on H1 & H4 this will be even better than it already is.
Looking into Qpip compilation you will see that there are 2.000 + pips are already milked per month...
Thanks for the kind words also! This seems to be a fest of friends with a good sense of humour and amazing determination to work things out.

Did you try CCI on other settings, too? We need an even faster exit now for longer TFs and CCI is still on my charts with the template. And if work allows it you could still use the flashdrive or handheld!

For those of you who value sleep as much as I do - he added a setting which trades between the hours of. as Cryten originally posted he trades between 2AM to 7AM (EST). you can now control when the EA will take trades during higher volatility times.

I briefly tested with EUR/JPY and noticed that the pair responded very nicely with a positive curve(upwards that is) a little choppy but you cant argue with the end result

The EA performs very well. The initial idea to pair up with the managetpv34.ex4 EA is what we would need for the short term trades... unfortunately we have no valid short term approach so far.

While I am typing I get an idea... :surprised Is it possible to enter new settings into the managetp-part of the EA while it is running? That would at least make it possible to manage the exit of long term trades that look really good, while you/we/all are in front of the screen!

This will not work while one is asleep, but on a 4H timeframe that is 2 candles and one could loosen or tighten the grip of the EA according to "market feeling". Unfortunately it is not possible to backtest that. But I will try it forward from now on.

LOL... another EA running. Guess I will have to revitalize my last unused IBFX account for that. (3 EAs live on 4+4+ new 1 pair(s)). My testing account #1 went from 400 USD to 1.000 USD on 0.1 minilots since I started. Must have been first week of September.

It would be nice to hear from you soon, uconn!

I have been watching the CCI, and that really looks good for early exits.
The CCI could be programmed as another entry signal, as well.
Sky's 007 v 1.1b EA (discard previous versions) allows one to select any combination of QQE/MOM/DMI/Damiani/Volume for entry, which would require all that you select be in agreement; exit uses any combination of QQE/MOM/DMI and takes merely the first one to cross. Very cool.

Right... we will need to think about another exit than the QQE cross, I guess.
On entry it is really good. But we never really looked into short term so far, as the EAs all lag behind. With combo-setting there may be a chance to squeeze some pips and make it work.
CCI is in focus here also. Let' s see who comes up with a solution in the end.
