If this keeps up for the 4 hour chart, it will look as though there will be some good price action suggesting more of an upward movement.

Be careful with that thought.. it doesn't always happen.. I think GBP/JPY may start trending downwards for a sustained period at some point in the future, perhaps not for a while yet.. We will see..

Edit - I think markets would wait for BoE interest rate decision/statement for further moves imo

It was a small trade mate, I went long at 236.27 and got out at 236.42 (too chicken to hold on longer) Not 500 pip trades like yours

I never post trades as soon as I take them,.. are you crazy? You know how many newbies PMed me when I posted one successful trade? I get inquiries on what I think about NZD, AUD, CAD.. what not in addition to GU and GJ!

Edit - Btw, I'll still go long again if there are dips. I look at it this way - markets shrugged off Citi, UBS news as 'That has passed.. everything is good from now on' As unreasonable as that mentality is, why fight it? If markets want to go up, let them.. we'll go long as well. Like I posted earlier though, BoE rate can change all that. If they don't cut.. this beast will probably go back all the way up.

Because I don't want anyone taking any positions when I take them.. no way. I see people here getting blamed all the time ('but you went short because of so and so.. so i went short too')

It's not so much as getting blamed.. it's just not really a good feeling to be partly responsible for someone's losses (even with all the warnings etc) Besides, my trades are based on fundamentals alone.. no charts, no technicals, no gut feeling.. nothing.

If the funds are buying, I'll go long - if markets ignore bad news, I'll ignore them too.

Btw, I posted the earlier trade because you asked me i was done.

bro--noone here will blame u-- everyone knows that they are trading their own accounts--its cool to share your trades unless ure not confident of your positions ! many seniors in here share their trade views--it doesnt matter if we are wrong or right--this is not a trade call service thread--so dont be worried about being blamed---it would be interesting to know your trades as u say "Besides, my trades are based on fundamentals alone.. no charts, no technicals, no gut feeling.. nothing. "
im sure we would all want to know this style of trading as most trade in here purely technically with fundie knowledge

Japanese funds buying aud and nzd currencies - talks of more investment fund launches.

As long as these fund launches go on, any dips will be bought. I've been waiting for AUD/JPY to fall so I can get in.. bugger refuses to move

There is no reason for this thing to go down now. Too much "corporate buyback" discussion, gold breaking out as the dollar sinks. Cable could push way higher if rates are unchanged and that means this train is leaving. The market has "made up it's mind" and it's going up after a small retraco which we are all trying to guess aren't we? Let's be practical, it's time to put away the fib tool unfortunately, that range was fun while it lasted.

Hey Vishal, where do you get this knowledge man? Do you use some type of news feed? I just use technicals, for instance is the AUD/JPY falls then a bullish engulfment comes after I would buy in. Knowledge of fund launches and things of that nature, I think, are almost a key to becoming a long term trader. I cant imagine my trading world without charts... I think Id become broke real fast. Oh and by the way, like i said earlier, The Gbp/jpy is creating a nice price action setup on the four hour chart. On a small dip, Im thinking of buying into it for around 100 or so pips.

I get feeds from IFR markets, 4Cast, Thomson markets, - all plus my Reuters feed. Sometimes reports from Gain Capital also pour in. I look at option strikes, expiries, fund demands, etc.

The most important reports I look out for are fixes, they're great to take advantage of. I would say 80% of the time, fix information is pretty accurate. Either it happens, or it doesn't.

Option strikes also occur at an amazingly accurate rate. I remember there was this option strike on some pair (dated for a NY open) and the price was 150 pips away. As soon as it started getting close to ny open.. price went nuts.. went down all the way - 150 pips.. hit that option strike and went back up lol. I was just watching and shaking my head.

I'm not confident of my current trades, because overall I am extremely bearish on GBP/JPY. I still believe there should be more correction, but then looking at what the markets want - I am compelled to take opposite trades.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I noticed that today with the DOW .. I bet markam was confused too lol.

Looks like it could be a boring night (day) so off to bed. London session should bring some spice back into the market.

HM, would you be able to get your chauffeur to pick me up from Sydney Airport and leave a nice bottle of champange in it? I'm sure my wife would be impressed and may even allow me to trade more
