the well educated academics call it gamble too or a financial game, as soultrader is pointing out its about probabilitys and setting some realistic goals we just cant win 1000 pips every time lol. As we where into in the start of the thread about how many that fails in trading the 90 % or 95% i have been investigating it with some of my friends and those statistics is taken from daytraders. I dont know anything about the failure rate of those who follow the core trend but that requires diciplin too but that type of investing is suitable for almost everyone.

actually, my conversations with brokers have identified that 95% losers is actually a conservative estimate, it's more like 97-98% according to them.

One broker told me out of the 9000+ clients they had that there were about 20 people who made money consistently. you do the math.

0.22% or 99.78% is looser.

That is true but the most who join FX are aiming for quick fortunes and quick profits so they enter into the daytrading arena which is the most difficult of all IMHO . Trading is difficult itself but daytrading is the killer with a lot of volatility and noise... That requires nerves, dicsipline, and 1000s of other things.

bullrock.. You do talk a lot of sense... I agree with most thing I have read of yours :-)

There are so many get rich quicksters in FX, following by a lot of tears.

ya thats true. I started trading 3 years ago and startet with exact that ego!!! what happened when i opened a trade damn i got nerveus many of u now how it feels,especially with to high gearing. What happened i did surender every time i went into a position and frezzed like an iceberg 1 trade and a falling king check mate. well many many trades was like that and it really takes time to think learn and come over things.
Today while i was at work i was thinking about trading gosh lol as mentioned in earlier posts as a check game, Ya i was thinking that i myself is the king with severals pawns(my toll box) but all other figures on my table is missing gosh i wished i had that quenn but i was thinking that i dont think i ever is going to get that queen, well thats fine enough just myself the king and my spawns to make my decisions then in the long run i get a horse, that help me to boost my total equity 2 steps up and sometimes 1 stepback thats fair and squair to me and i accepted that the the queen is the market and the brokers/banks as being bishops making the market moving up and down creating liquidity to the small players.
