Depending on platform, I had a high of 235.26 on one and 235.27 on the other (both brokers closed at 22:00 London time). My short stops will be above 235.50 though. I consider anything below that unsafe..

I might agree with you. But I also saw a resistance @235.05ish area .. anyway. it's good not get stopped out, still have hope

I agree with mktjong about a potential downwards movement as friday closed as a basic hanging man formation. Hope this is good as this is the first trade back after vacation. maybe itll pay for it

Another thing to look at is the fact that we are still in this range. Were just at the top of it now, which would make it prime for a drop. To where, Im not entirely sure yet- but hopefully the bottom of the range.

Don't get too hung up analyzing charts. Whether we go up or down is going to be determined by the tankan numbers coming out in 2:20.

should be some resistance around 235.50.. Lets see if it can blast through today.. weak tankan data might just do it... we will see

Evening guys,
been following this thread for a few weeks and learning as I go. I have made some profits from advice gathered from this thread. While I am still new to this I just want to express to the thread members that I am glad that most posters are unselfish and seem to have a true desire to help others. Thus far the only issue I have is the lingo. But I am learning and getting up to speed on that as well.

Gold and swissy are traditionally considered "safe havens". The US dollar is definitely not a safe haven from inflation or global shocks.

Go long on a break of 235.5.

converging triangle has been breached on four hour. Final confirmation on dailies is break of 235.5.

"Just in case it wasn't clear. 235.50 is the key (and extreme) point of resistance. If that breaks north (before any potential retrace) then I'll be in long with a stop below that point. My stop on any shorts will be above 235.5 so I will be looking for an entry as close to that level as possible (though scaling in)."

definitely waiting for the japanese news for some action...

Perhaps oil is increasing because the USD is decreasing, thus increasing demand from those countries whos currencies are appreciating against the USD. Not that I believe in either scenario but my one seems more probable.
Look man,the price is fixed by OPEC for determinate time and the USA is buing it at these fixed price after they make the USD cheaper!In other words when the OPEC raises the price,the USA is undervalueing the dollar!

And as Markam said in this case the crude is much profitable in other currencies in euro for example!And if this is true the crude price can be an indicator for the prise rise/reduce towards the other major currencies!

Interesting day.. Tankan Report is coming out within few hours. Technically UJ is on a strong bearish position already and GU is due for a correction from the Fridays bullish rally.
I still got my 4hr/1hr long trade open and I have moved the Stop loss to the entry level.
