Hey bullrock.. good to see you here I would think that CPI is much more important than retail sales, or any other report. With all the carry traders on edge, they all look out for any signs of inflation and would want to assume positions accordingly.

With the Toushin demand, and negative CPI.. this looks bullish for UJ (and consequently GJ as well) Maybe the sell-off everyone has been waiting for will start during the London session. As of now, there doesn't seem to be any valid reason to sell Yen pairs.. unless some hedge fund dumps a couple of hundred millions and causes a move.

Can someone verify this for me?

Following the 15m strat, I see a bearish arrow and dot on my chart, QQE 5 and 1 have crossed down below 50. Now all I have to wait for is the 1hr QQE 5 RSI to cross the slow line?

Or are there other signs I need to watch for (daily pivot, etc.)

Daily pivot? Yes. This system only applies between 4.00GMT and 15.00GMT,

ask for the link to the system rules, i dont have it, i would have posted it

I think industrial production is more important, but I guess we will let the market decide.

The Nikkei has opened positive, but is pushing against 17000, so I am not sure if it will go much higher.

You'll be 1 KT soon enough. Why did you go short mate? (I mean your reason for going short) Like I posted earlier, imo there's no reason for yen pairs to fall currently.. till maybe end of tokyo or start of london session..

I'm aware of the time frame restrictions, I'm just trying to understand the system itself, even though it is not an appropriate time to make a trade based on it.

I've read through the rules. My problem is, there are like 5 different versions and things have changed dramatically.

The summary on the 15m strat thread http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=45076 seems old.

Reading through the thread, there are some new rules which some of are summed up in the Aus 1&15m strat word document.

I've read this entire thread from post #1 and have seen Aus comment on different rules for the 15m strat.

I am so confused!!!!

I consider myself pretty intelligent, so unless I am just completely missing out on a 3rd source of compiled information detailing the current 15m strat, I'm assuming the present information is out of date and/or spread out in so many locations as to not make any sense.

I really, really, really want to learn this strategy and I appreciate having Aus and everyone else on this thread being so open and willing to help people learn the forex market.

Please help

Well, I sometimes use 30 min qqe(30) and has crossed down and confirmed, also reference the treasuries data as well. Now, the price is going against me .. what is going on

From a fundamental standpoint, there is also no reason for the yen pairs to rise either. I don't think that anybody would argue that global economic news is poor right now, and hasn't improved significantly since the panic of August. Of the major industrialized countries, I would argue that Japan is best positioned to weather a global recession. As a result, their currency should be strengthening.

Add in the fact that GJ is near its highest level since early August, and I would believe that there is very limited upside to GJ at this point.

Yes, that is a bullish doji on the 1H. I am showing bearish MACD divergence on the 15M and 30M which are not strong enough to act upon yet (it's best to wait for divergence on at least the 1H chart or higher). My 4H chart, which just updated at 00 GMT, is showing momentum down on the 4H but up on the 1H and 30M charts. This tells me that we will probably see more up movement, at least for the next hour or so, and then a possible down movement. We'll have to wait for the 0100 GMT 1H momentum to determine further movement. As far as your channel, it looks good for more up movement, but I don't personally use channels much any more. I do like to throw trend lines on a chart but lilmoe and zoran are the channel men in this thread. Hope that helps some.
