hi guys,i am abit confused with US news.The last NFP caused all yen pairs to drop big time but all dollar pairs to rocket up,is there special news for all yen pairs and dollar pairs to correlate and when not to? thanks

There's a lot more to this than just Yen - $ correlation. The last NFP - the environment was all about risk aversion. Bad NFP meant more bad news in addition to the already bad news about credit risks, housing problems, etc.

So Yen pairs dropped.. because people wanted to get their money out of carry trades and invest it somewhere else. $ pairs rocketed up,, obviously.. because of bad NFP.. that's not exactly good news for the $.

I would not trade any yen pairs on NFP news.. I will stick to only EUR/USD or GBP/USD.

The bulls are trying to breach the 200 ema on the 4-hr chart. GJ hasn't been above that line since July 25, and it has been tested several times. Each time there has been a big drop in GJ after the test. Hopefully this will be another failure.

I should have posted the price of the 4H 200EMA on my last chart. It is right at 233.29. Here is one more look at it. For those who were wondering where to put a stop on your shorts I would put it somewhere just above the 4H 200 EMA. I won't give you an exact price. I think you can figure that out for yourself.

Sounds to me like he is saying the strike was called off, meaning no more striking. If that's true, it is new news. But yes, the actual news of the Union strike was announced yesterday.

Ahh.. my bad then I've been staring at my news source.. for anything bad related to the Aussie $. It's way too high.. I can't believe that not one bank or mortgage company there is in trouble.

Unless you plan to be a 100% technical trader, you have to be able to understand what news means to countries economies and currencies. These impacts can change over time and must be understood in the context of all the other events going on in the world. There is no way to simply explain how a news event will impact the market short and long term.

My advice is to watch market reactions to news events and ask specific questions if you are confused. We are always ready to make up answers, I mean provide expert analysis.

the strike was called off yesterday afternoon. a new agreement was reached and workers were back 9/26 afternoon/evening so this is old news

Not so much in trouble but there are concerns about RAMS Home loans and I think from memory Adelaide Banks exposure to it.

A bit off topic regarding AUDUSD

04:30 AUD/USD: Stops Above 0.8775 Triggered Sydney, September 27: Stops above 0.8775 have finally been triggered in the AUD/USD with a high of 0.8785 printing so far. US investment bank buying and AUD/JPY buying flows have supported the AUD/USD all day. There is talk of an option barrier at 0.8800 that will be defended and create some headwind. The next level of resistance is found at the July and multi-year high around 0.8870.

I don't like this report stating that up to 17 new investment funds could be launched in japan tomorrow. This could mean a rise for UJ.. and possibly GJ.. (tomorrow though) Maybe the setup would be perfect.. a rise tomorrow and the big fall on Friday/Monday.

Thanks for the picture. For some reason, my 200 EMA is nowhere near that level. I wonder why that would be.
