But sadly the GBP/JPY is about -50 right now. :-P But I think it will turn around.

Automatic backtesting, done properly, is almost as difficult as trading itself. Merlin wrote an article for S & C magazine that goes into the pitfalls. The problem is compounded, as you've discovered for yourself, if you have bad data.

For myself, and this is just my opinion, I have found automated backtesting to be next to worthless. The only backtesting I have found to have any meaning for me is to do it manually, bar by bar. Hard enough if the system works on bar closes, but much more difficult if smaller bars, such as on minute, or even tick data have to be referenced. But, despite the excrutiation tedium of it, it is the only method of backtesting I have found that gives me any confidence in the system being tested.

I suggest you drop the automated backtesting and switch to manual, followed by a period of forward testing on demo.

Effi is right though. This system works, but you have to practice it yourself on many trades to make it yours. Remember, in the end, it is not the system; it is the trader operating it.

EUR USD will be testing 1995 Historical R of 1.4160 after which its the ALL TIME Historical high of 1.4520... this is so exciting and we are in early too floating at +150 already.

Mr. Effilang.

First of all i want to say thank you for en nice simple but yet effective set up. As allways in any system the outcome highly depends on the traders dicipline and money managment. But your set up is a really good one that would be easy to have a good money managment for.

But... i'm a little confused. You often present som kind of entrys that are not in line with the 25 - 50 set up.
This is very confusing if one tryes to learn your system. I don't think i am the only one that feels like this.

Because of that i will give you a suggestion. Then it's up to you if you like it or not. But can you not make a seperate thread in for exemple the journal Factory section?
There you can post your entrys for your other system.
I think that would be much less confussing then.

Once again... thank you for your set up.

alcastro - yes those are 2550 results EXCLUSIVELY, check the daily charts. I pretty much start trading around 17:00 EST / 00:00 GMT + 2, so i have nothing against posting Daily 2550 signals for the time being.

Trader_V - i appreciate your attention to detail. If it weren't for that being one of my stubborn qualities, i would never have created so many systems nor found the ambition to continue optimizing and making yet more accurate trading methods.

I understand and accept the regular inaccuracy of RSI and welcome any ideas on ways to improve this for the better. For the time being though, it is what i know to work best.

In fact, I made a slight modification on the 2550 by adding EMA5 and it simply amazing dude... I've already USD2000+ in profit for today.

Also, I open a post base on MACD as well which I set at the value of 15, 25, 5

At the moment, GU (Short at 260) is floating +15, which i set the TP of 50 pips.
