New GFT Foresight AI service - any comments?

I have been curious about this service for a few weeks. The service plots a predicted price chart for the following day. I contacted them and I asked them to update the charts on their website daily so that I could see the good and the bad. To my shock, they did.

The price is hefty. They want $500 a month and require a $5000 balance in your GFT account. I'm small time, so that's a big piece of change for me. However, I can easily see how such a signal, even on the worst day I've seen so far, could keep me in the black.

I'm not a big fan of their platform, but I am becoming a big fan of this service.

Has anyone tried this in real-time?

This is something unbelievable...
But the other thing is that most probably they are real... coz if not GFT would close them in a matter of 1minute

It will be interesting to hear from those who tryed it in real Life...

Is anybody else following this? Look at today's and tell me that you could not make money with that. Can this be real?

i made a large enough deposit with GFT recently and they have offered me a free trial for a week. I will try to remember to check back and let you know. Will not start the trail until next week due to NFP tomorrow. I use GFT for the charting which I love I curious why one of you is not a fan of GFT, thanks

It may be that I am just too used to MT4 for charting. It also may be that I draw a lot of trend lines and find that in the GFT platform when a trend line is drawn in one time frame, it is difficult to move when I'm in another time frame.

For instance, I'll draw a trendline on the weekly chart and when I get down to the 5 min chart to fine-tune it, I can't grab the line and move it. It cripples my trading habits.

But man, I would love to start trading that signal they have. I noticed the one they put up today was actually from 11/30. I wonder why.

You weren't "available" for trading??!! Don't tell me you are "trying to keep your job" or "spending time with your family" because we all know these are just poor excuses...

o.k - 1st report. i have had this for 2 days and not real sure how I should post. the trend drawn seems to hold up, but remember the 4x is so volatile that you may not be zigging when this chart is zagging due to the difference in values. my demo will only be a few days due to the fact that I didn't load last friday and the demo was precisely 1 week. worth the money?? you had better watch a few charts they post and see if yiu could have traded accordingly. Bear in mind the vertical value of the price is adjusted to fit the data throughout the day, but if the next trend shows up you may be in a losing position prior to that upturn. would you hold on until profitable? make sure to ask the marketing folks at GFT the questions. My rep Brad Decker seems to be knowledgeable.

Pesavento Map

"Can the markets be predicted?" That is a century old question. The 1900 Ph.D. thesis dissertation of Louis Bachelier, in Paris, argued the apparent erratic motion of stock market prices is identical to random walks. The 1965 work of Nobel prize winner Paul Samuelson proved that prices fluctuate randomly. While the bias of academia is towards markets being efficient, completely random and unpredictable, it appears that most traders believe otherwise. Traders see market behavior and price patterns that are repeatable, which therefore offer an element of being predictable. Larry Pesavento, a well know trader and author, has been a long time proponent that market behavior can be predicted. The titles of some of his books are: 'Astro-Cycles: The Trader's Viewpoint', 'Fibonacci Ratios with Pattern Recognition', and 'Profitable Patterns for Stock Trading'. The last mentioned book has a chapter titled 'The Non Random Nature of Chaos Theory' which discusses his involvement in an area of research using Neural Networks to forecast the next day's price action. Neural Nets were discussed in greater detail in the January 2002 and August 2002 issues of the Trading Tips newsletter. A profile of Larry Pesavento and his trading style is discussed in the June 2002 Trading Tips issue.

I believe the markets can be predicted. Market behavior has often been compared to waves because of the inherent characteristics of amplitude and periodicity. Market technicians have used Fibonacci retracement and extension tools to measure and predict amplitude fluctuations. The Pesavento Patterns tool was developed for Larry Pesavento to quickly find the swings in the price action and label the amplitude ratio relationships. Cycle tools have been used to measure and predict periodicity. A powerful tool that is predictive of both price and time is the Pyrapoint tool.

Possibly the most original predictive tool in recent years to be made commercially available is the Pesavento Map tool found only in the Ensign Windows charting software. The Pesavento Map tool analyses enormous amounts of market data to make a probable forecast of future market behavior. The tool incorporates the characteristics of both amplitude and periodicity to forecast future price action. That is a monumental objective, and the Map tool does an exceptional job.

The Pesavento Map needs lots of back data in order to make a useful prediction. The tool is designed to recognize patterns and learn market characteristics for both vertical price fluctuations and the timing of swing turning points. Time of day is an important consideration since behavior at market open is used to predict opening behavior. Mid-day behavior is used to make a mid-day forecast. Behavior at market close is used to predict market closing patterns. In order to see sufficient pattern detail, it is recommended that the tool be applied to 2-minute bars up to 5-minute bars. A large time frame bar like 60-minutes is inappropriate because there is hardly any pattern in just 6 hourly bars per day. Some users have applied the Map tool to constant tick bar charts with success, but the variable nature of the time period covered by constant tick bars diminishes the precision of the Time characteristic that the tool is analyzing.

Market Open Forecast
Recalculate the Map at the end of the day session. The Map that shows on the chart will have very high correlation to the chart because it has the benefit of hindsight. The data showing on the chart and all prior days off the left side of the chart is known information, and is used to make the forecast for tomorrow's opening behavior.

Another user of this signal told me that there was a problem with the curve showing up "inverted". Do you know anything about that? Seems to me that if you couldn't tell whether the curve was upside down, the curve would be useless.

So I contacted somebody at GFT and they sent me this explanation. It seems that the inversion is not a bug, but a 'natural' interaction between the indicator and the market. Hmmmm.

How to handle an inversion

First and most important is that the key time of the day is paramount to using foresight as it is a timing tool. Foresight predictions that present a very strong trending forecast occur quite often. On days of these strong trends traders should watch for the counter trend moves that occur. These will usually be small on the order of 20 to 30 pips and then the trend will continue. Inversions do not occur haphazardly and they do not occur several times a day. Usually, a maximum of 2 or 3 times can be expected on choppy days.

What to look for if an inversion (mirror image) is occurring.

1. Look for normal fib retracements of .618 and .786 of previous swings.

2. Find the previous days range and expand that range by 1.27 this will give you the new high or low in the direction of the trend.

3. Watch for AB=CD parallel moves. These equal moves occur constantly.

Let Foresight do its job and predict the trend it was trained to look for. If the market is not responding to the foresight forecast within 20 or 30 minutes, an inversion should be suspected and the trader should put the inversion model up to see if it is correlating with the market.

I agree, my demo was for such a short time I haven't had the time to study in detail.

I'm the user who inquired about inversion - I have finally received permission to post. I think the tool is powerful and worth the cost. I did experience the inversion issue several times in the two weeks I've had this. I also learned something by followng the link above regarding Pesavano Maps. GFT tells you that the Foresight indicator does not indicate magnitude only trend direction and more importantly trend reversals. Sizing or scaling the Foresight indicator can drastically change your understanding of the trend - you can scale it until the market looks flat. That's what the maps demonstrate. You can also invert it; in the end you can make it conform to the market if you work at it. We have to figure out how to make it work without fitting it to the data.

I found this link by doing a general internet search for Foresight AI. I was hoping to find some tradng buddies who might like to trade this along with me on theory that two or three heads might be better than one. If anyone is game, please email me and we'll set something up - an IM or something.

I think I'll take that offer. I'm going to open an account this week, but I don't think I'll start trading the AI indicator until after Jan 1st. I don't want my demo week to fall right in the middle of Christmas Madness.

What time zone are you in? I'm in California and start trading right about the time that the Foresight indicator kicks in - about 5:00 AM my time.
