Steve, Come here! I want to slap some sense in you...

Look back to around May/June..I mean has anyone else at FF made that many pips??? I remember once like 12 trades in a row you profitted.. Consistancy is what you do really well. You have a talent at picking trades with set profits. This is all good....You won the lottery! If you want more pips add to your trades.. No need to improve what you do.

That's not a good question to ask(and I don't mean myself)

I also would like to reiterate - as is most important - that it's not about pips, it's about r/r...

But hey, Stevie, there's gonna be more and more nice setups, no worries.

I for one am going to attempt the silly "keep it for more than a day" logic once more, even though it's bitten me sooooooooooooo many times and try and see if perhaps GBPUSD might not be a kinder soul to me this time around...

Let's hope so

Doesn't hurt to move stops, just hurts to close out too soon I think...but finding the perfect "here and nowhere else" stop loss placement is triiiiiicky...takes time, skill and a bit o' luck, too, I guess

Things will alllllll work out alright..

I guess I beat myself up too much when things don't go my way lol. Oh yeah, check out Karmostaji's journal - now he's grabbing a huge amount of pips just by trading GJ. I remember when he was just about to open his first live account & I was trying to drum into him the importance of patience, discipline and sticking to a plan. I always told him he had the right mindset to make it and he's made a great start.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot in all the excitement lol. My AUDJPY was also stopped out for minus 167 pips soon after the fed announcement to complete a thoroughly miserable day (well trading wise anyhow). I'll update the pip count (or rather the non-pip count hehe) for September in the morning.

Managed to scalp 127 pips over 3 trades so far on GBPJPY on its way down from above 234 to salvage something from the wreckage that was today

Hmm, do I feel an all-nighter coming on? lol

Was a miserable day for me as well. Lost alot o pips from trades taken off the daily charts. O well.....keep on keeping on right!

At least we still have our intraday and scalping pips...lol

Just thought I'd post a bit since I have'nt done it in a while.
BTW...nice work last month.

Well, I did stay up rather late and also still had a few shorts left that I left open 4 hours ago on GBPJPY.

I took a total of 11 positions (not all open at the same time) on the way down from 234.14 and have just got in for a lunch break.

I see we hit the low 231's but closed all but two positions at 231.93 a few minutes ago for a total of 526 pips Am I turning into a master scalper?? hahaha. Edit. The remaining two just closed at 231.55.

Not a bad day's work and more than makes up for yesterday's debacle lol. No trades currently open.

September pips including yesterday (-318) & today (+526) stands at +250 lol

I have been counting any trade that I place - I appreciate that scalping and trading off the daily charts are like chalk and cheese but all trades are placed on the same account.

OK, two new trades just placed....

USDCAD (eeeek) long from 1.0151 (s/l 1.0072)
EURCAD long from 1.4182 (s/l 1.4082)

Both PB's on the daily charts with initial stop loss just below yesterday's low.

Ah..another midnight oil burner. Nice to know somebody else's sleep is getting screwed, these 3.5 hour nights I'm having lately are just not funny any more! Well, that Canadian dollar only did it again. Completely ignores the pinbars - may be worth going long on USDCAD with a stop loss at 0.0000 - surely even the dollar can't go that low

Minus 179 over the two trades which brings September's total to just +71. What a month this has been - up, down, up, down - if we weren't talking forex that would be a good month at my age if you catch my drift

The YO YO trading method! Its the same here! Getting stuffed at the mo.! Lots of positive trades open at mo., by the time I wake up tomorrow, pip profit would of increased 3 fold or back to square one!

Roll on 7am. Please good news tomorrow! 1st time in 3 weeks if it is!

Stevie...seriously...sometimes you should at least consider using orders, at least for those tiny tot PBs on the arch nemesis to traders that is USDCAD. Told Tiki the same thing.
I didn't even place break orders since I was very much expecting that magic 1.00....if just to satisfy all the parity yellers...I got my revenge - closed out almost 100% of my last symbolic USDCAD short(read: worth nothing) for +400.

My kind of revenge on USDCAD.

Also keep in mind the downtrend was quite strong and that for the weekly to even remotely turn around it would have had to rally all of today and tomorrow back to weekly open levels. Not impossibl, but was there a scenario for that?

Don't take it so hard and don't end up pulling another all night scalp fest, it does your regular trading no better

We want consistent trading, not scalpfests =)

I'm too cream crackered for an all night fest tonight but may place a trade or two on the daily later - we'll see.

Why am I in such a good mood? 179 pips down & I'm laughing? I guess I just expect it with CAD lol.
