In the past (a couple of decades ago), the CAD was at par with the USD, then the USD took off and the CAD was the weaker one. There are advantages with weak currency: e.g. i) tourist industries, foreign visitors like to spend vacation in countries where their currency get more milleage, ii) export products from countries with weak currency are cheaper, thus, more attractive to their buyers, ii) folks from countries with weak currencies would frett to go on vacation in countries with strong currency, they spend their $ at home... So, it is not the end of the world for the US, really, the US would have lots of visitors from Canada, now, that the CAD is almost at parity with the USD...and many more visitors from countries with strong currencies. That would certainly help US economy...and that of Canada too because Canada depends heavily (80%) on the US for its export products...
Well said, just like to add Canadian manufacturing industry is going to suffer, well someone has to. Also, the last time CAD$ was at parity was in 1976.

This thing will go to 250 by 4 GMT when the QQQ and the Gann and SMA and all the cosmic lines arrange together in a systemic fashion to spell doom for the Yen.

I'm expectig the pair to go for a retarcement before it goes up. UJ tested the 4hr 200sma for the first time since July. Few days ago GJ tested the 200sma for the first time and we saw a 400+ pip bounce. 4hr 200sma is usually described as a 'brick wall" . First attempt is very likely bounce back . Seconed attept it's likely to break that level. Since this is UJ's first attept.. I expect the GJ to bounce back few hundred pips along with UJ.

How ever the Indicators are positioning it selves to shoot up agian.But not enough confirmation to take a long poistion.

If you think GJ is not moving, you should see EU. I swear I thought there was a EU sticker on my screen stuck at 1.3977/78. I even tried to peel it off lol

TTN ANALYSIS - IF BOJ HAWK MIZUNO VOTES FOR A RATE HIKE, IT COULD BE A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN TODAY'S FED MOVE
- A 8-1 vote at the BoJ meeting may hint at a BoJ rate hike before the end of the year, and would be a vote of confidence in the U.S. economy (a key destination for Japanese exports). The BoJ's main scenario has always expected the U.S. economy to have a soft landing, but the recent Fed statement that "risks to economic growth had increased appreciably" has put the BoJ in a tough position.
- If the BoJ vote came in at 9-0, BoJ hawk Mizuno may be hinting that he thinks a full U.S. recovery seems unlikely (implying that Japanese exports may take a hit)
