It's a code, so my students can identify with the trade type and make a comparison to their own charts and what they are seeing.

Hi Effilang

I also trade a 25/50 ema strategy and have been for sometime now, however my entry criteria is slightly different to yours which i find filters out alot of the false trades.

Criteria - For a Buy (vise-versa for Sell)
1. Candle 1 - Must open below the 50 ema and close above the 50 ema
2. The next candle (candle 2) Must open & close above the 50 ema
Entry is 10 pips above the high of Candle 2.

Hello,

Thank you. I'm aware you posted this before.

It works. I emphasize a lot on closes, opens and wicks and am an avid candlestick user, but i don't apply this technique to this system.

I have to other of my EMA systems, which are also documented online in forums.

I'm sure those who find the technique to work for them will apply it at their own accord having read this.

Thank you for your input and reposting to make sure i hadn't missed it!

Thus far I've taken 5 trades from effilang's system. 2 trades still open. EUR/USD was opened Friday, and NZD/USD opened today.

I lost on USD/JPY trying to trade off the 1 hour chart with a tight stop. I noticed with my bad trades the 4hr charts rsi was just over 50. Thu far my bbest trade was GBP/USD last week. I set a limit for 50 points and it was hit when I woke up.

I'm learning too look over the daily charts and also the slope of the EMA's. I feel the slope of the ema's might have some significance. All trades are in demo mode as I'm just checking the sys out.

Just don't forget to move SL to half of what it was before, or to move it directly to b/e when you hit values like 100 or 150/200 pips.

I've been following your system with great interest, and thank you for posting it. As has been said before its direct and simple. The above signal doesn't seem to conform to the system- as I understand it. Can you show a chart to explain how the gbp's are a buy? Thanks so much for you help.

Its a bonus signal from my course system, so i won't be detailing entry criteria here.

I'm away from my computer at the moment but from what i can see we're up about:

+50 Pips on GBP/USD

and

+220 on GBP/JPY

I hope y'all took those signals.

Oooh.. You're right.

Looks like we are up a good 500 Pips on both pairs today.

Seen better days http://forums.babypips.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif, i've seen worse, but overall good results, nothing suprizing for this system though.

That would put us around: +342, -146, +260, +182 +500(Floating) = ~1138 PIPs Gain so far, in about 9 days. Thats good money.

Wow....just started using this system today and I seen a signal on the NZD/USD and got in and 5 min later it was up 83pips.... what a report...

Be careful trading with the 5 Min chart. I strongly recommend H4.

I was using a 3hour chart..I meant after I got in it went up 5 minutes later....If my platform goes from 1hr, 3hr, 1day..will the 3hr work with this system?

I have no idea i'm not familiar with that.

I like to think, the market needs at least 3 tries at something, to reach a decision on the 4th attempt.

I apply that logic to the time frame i use and consider H4 to be most convenient.

As a rule of thumb, the lower you go the worse it will get, but be my guest!

Thats' just how i think.

BTW, when i say i'm gonna post my exit values, it doesn't mean you should wait for ME!

I'll probably do it when or if i have time or am around the computer.

Hi Effi,
I've spent this last week/weekend playing with this; good system, I like it. Suits my style in being very simple and easy to use. For me, the simpler the better. Catches all the big moves but is a bit of a bugger in the choppies, but you can't have everything! I just set my alarms and wait for the call.
Just like to add my thanks for your system, the time you spend on here, alerts, answering quessies etc...
