EUR/JPY 09/18/07 Price Move in North Finance

Hi to all,

I'm just starting out to learn how to trade and this forum is really helping me a lot. I know price movement may differ quite a bit across different brokers but did someone notice the price move for EUR/JPY in north finance just a while ago?

At about 09/18, 18:07-18:08 (North Finance time) price suddenly went down 60+ pips but retraced immediately. It was like my open (sell) position was down at -4 pips and in an instant was in profit at +61 pips but in a blink of an eye went back to a loss of -4pips. I am aware of forex volatility but this move seems strange to me as it never occurred in FXCM. You can see the attached images. Both charts are in 1M time frame.

Can somebody explain why this happened? Thanks

sometimes demoes get spikes in their data, which cause what you described. i'm guessing none of your other eur or jpy charts have this spike, so it is just a data error. nothing to worry about, unless you get that in live trading, which you would have to take up with your broker.

ps: start with higher timeframes (1hr - daily) it'll save you lots of grief!!

Thanks ScottH for the reply. I hope this kind of error doesn't happen often times in live accounts. I normally do my analysis in higher time frames. It's just that I was in front of my monitor and I noticed my P/L for the EUR/JPY quickly changed from -4 to +61 then back to -4 again. So I just checked if the price move really did occur.
