Me too mate.. for fundamental reasons. I'm betting that this thing will go north (not by a lot) until Sep 18 - when Feds don't hike, it will come crashing down. Of course, if the Feds do cut.. entirely different story. Just my 2 cents.

I think the market is pricing in 25-50bp cut rate.. and this thing is going to crash in the coming week or so.

As for rate cuts fed 0.25% is almost sure and market is even accomodating that cut and the debate is about 0.50% cut or more .Have to wait and see what happens

you are right, if FED cuts then USD/JPY is going to tank down, and that will take all the jpy crosses lower, so we are stuck in this range of 232.70 and 230.50 range

Can you please tell me where you got "almost sure" of a 0.25% fed rate cut. Did any of the "voting" fed members say such or hint to such or is it just the popular opinion? sw

Yep, I've even read a few wires where some analysts believe, or have taken for granted that a 50 bp cut rate is priced in AND there will be a cut in the lending rate to banks.. Too many optimists everywhere lol

None of the fed members have said anything.. it's a popular opinion amongst all traders.. goes with the 'Buy the rumor and sell the news' mantra. Everyone is 100% optimistic that Feds are going to cut rates to soothe the current situation (everyone = analysts, banks, traders, etc)

we dont know yet if they are goin to reduce any rates what soever
