right now i am treating my short as a scalp and protecting the pips I have earned with a really tight stop. I don't think it is going to drop below this level, at least not for a while.

Actually having thought about it, I realized that good economic news results in a weaker yen. The machinery order will give a boost to the Nikkei, which in turn will send GJ up. I should have gone long on the machinery order.

Sometimes this ass-backwards currency drives me crazy.

I'm just pissed. That stupid spike just lost me more than I have lost in a while. All because I did the logical thing and bet on the yen strengthening with good economic news.

I am going to put a big sign up that says

REMEMBER THE YEN ALWAYS DOES THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT IT LOGICALLY SHOULD DO.

Hello and Good Morning to all Alusconites,

Attached 2 charts of 5M tf from 2 different brokers. Pics LF is my broker and I discovered that there is a discrepancy on 2007.09.10 22:55 (vertical line). Can someone be kind enough to compare your chart with mine and tell me which is the correct one? I guess my broker has been ripping me for quite sometime. Can my broker manipulate the chart? Just wondering.

Don't worry. Your feelings are absolutely normal. For the first two years or so of live trading, every time something happens on your chart that doesn't make sense, you're going to swear your broker is out to get you. Bottom line is that your broker can't keep you from making money if you're taking good entries, using good money management, and setting good SL's and TP's. Some people actually believe there is a conspiracy by brokers against their clients. If you ascribe to that you would be better off getting out of trading right now. I don't care who your broker is you're eventually going to find fault with them. There is no perfect broker. I've seen all of the big boy brokers, and some of the small guys, smashed on this thread at one time or another. Look in the mirror. Challenge yourself. Ask this question, "Is my broker really gone run the price of the entire platform down just to stop me out and take my $25.00?" Deep breath. Suck it in. Exhale. You're gonna do just fine.
