I've had problems with forex.com. Maybe a month ago or so in the middle of the London session all of their platforms went down for hours. No Windows, Java, or HTML. I was in a trade, but luckily nothing serious happened to me during that time.

just talked to fxcm on the phone,said they will be up in a few minutes-really shady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must be referring to when the Tropical Storm went through New York. All the power was down for several hours.

can't close open short from Friday...on FXCM either...would like to at least lock in profit by moving my stop up... was able to do a trade on demo....go figure.

there live chat room supprot said they are updating prices and will open shortly

Btw, you guys are thinking to close your shorts and I am thinking to go short. I guess you guys don't have to worry . .seems this pair would likely be going down more. But I might be wrong. Why do I think they have a bunch of orders they held hoping to fill them at a better price, and now they are screwed. They know as soon as they open trading all these orders will be closed.

I am with FXSOL. i have had no problems with them with opening times.
they open promptly at 1600 ET on sunday. but the execution in the first half hour is delayed by about 15 minutes and when i called them on phone they said the delay is due to their computer executing orders from the friday thro the weekend. But the execution is instantaneous after the first 15-20 minutes after open.

Also they have fixed spreads at all times.( even during news evenst,which i like)
Closed 4 mini lots @ 229.01 which were open from friday.

I just closed my Short with FXCM..It worked fine although it says at the bottom 'trading closed'

Right now, the 2 factors that are moving the guppy are risk aversion (carry trade unwinding) and interest rate differential...the news announcement from jpy or uk won't really move the guppy substantially at this time...
So until the US cut down their rates, wether it be on sept. 18th or before, carry trade unwinding will be in favor because of risk aversion, DOW will go down and so will the guppy.
So if you already have a 100 pips+ of profits on a short from friday, keep it open, the long run will pay.

Then again, this is just my opinion, not a suggestion....

moved SL to 229.00 but my MT4 demo not open anyone got a chart please.
