MT4 / MT5 Trade Manager

Hi,

I am posting this thread on behalf of user, thunderbolt4x, which is my coding alter-ego, because I don’t have sufficient impact to start a new post under that name.

I have received a lot from the forex community on many forums over the years so I have decided to develop this trade manager and make it freely available to anyone interested as a thank you. It will be be free (with no expiry date) and I will provide the source code, which will also be free when it gets to version 1.0

I need people to help with testing and give ideas and feedback to get it to version 1.0 in a timely manner.

I will try to keep this thread updated with new versions and respond to questions in a timely manner but if you want a super-quick response and the most up to date version of the program then you will have to get it from here. I want to keep it all in one place because I will be writing the user manual as a thread and I’m sure that I won’t be able to keep multiple places in sync.

This is all very early days so the more help I can get the better.

This is the first (alpha) version that I am releasing and it is not feature complete and will be buggy so please bear that in mind.

I don't think the Metatrader industry really needs yet another trade manager, my opinion only, good luck.

And did you just confess to breaking a cardinal rule of Forex Factory?

If I have offended anyone, then that is not my intention. If you are talking about where I will be keeping the manual pages then I apologize, but I really don't think that keeping them in-sync in multiple places is practical in the long term. I am trying to be very transparent here and give something back to the forex community.

What also makes this EA a bit different (and I think interesting) is the integration of Anatoli Kazharski's EasyAndFastGUI graphics library, and the ability to change settings without having to restart the EA.

Once I release the source code my hope is that it will also be somewhat of a tutorial in how to code a different style of graphics in MT4 and MT5.

If the admin team are unhappy I hope they tell me what to change in the post or alternatively, I can take the post down.

good find this. It’s almost unbelievable they’d create a programming language and make input such an ordeal but they did. Ive been using arrows for up and down and it sucks

a trade manager is only useful if it removes execution friction, not adds another thing to babysit. For MT4/MT5 I’d care most about partial closes, BE, trailing, spread/slippage checks, and whether it behaves properly when price moves fast. Fancy panel is secondary; execution reliability is the real test

Yes, I totally agree with you. All fluff and no substance at best can make a program confusing and at worst, hide what it really needs to be doing, and that is to make managing accounts intuitive, effective and easy.

There are three things (more if I take the time to think) that I hope to achieve with this design:
1. Make the tools that it contains genuinely useful.
2. Make the tools easy to access.
3. Make the interface intuitive and easy to use.

I think that this interface will allow the tools to be more easily accessed than the standard MT way of developing interfaces. The quality of the tools, as with those presented via a standard interface, depend on the way they are designed.

I am hoping that with the help of members we can design useful tools to be presented via this interface and link them together.

As a trade/account manager and not an entry strategy EA, I would be interested to hear what you would want it to do concerning spread/slippage management
