I'm currently enjoying some red candles on my long term EU/swap/shorts. Need around 1650 to close a 10 day basket and reset, positive swap is small but I find the reverse swap can be quite painful on longer-term trades, plus I don't have to guess any direction, I'm basically short EU all the time, I'm so lazy.
Sounds like a lot of screen time to me.

Hi Jack. was in sells and had to cover them to avoid the dividend. once it passed started selling again and got about 92-93% of the drop

This system is so good thinking of buying another house and renting it out, as the money I've made ( some easy some hard) from this little gem would pay the mortgage,, something to think about...

Have been looking at the div trade and have made the following observations:
The div generally generates a push through a price level, closes on some time scale below the earlier level then constantly/often/always returns to that level, hence the reliability of the concept. When you pull up most charts, this is actually extremely common, when price pushes through a strong level it has previously been rejected from (where buyers and sellers have been in action). Here's a screen grab of a random period on the UK100 (1hr), the yellow dots marking most of the areas where price has been rejected.

In every case here I think its true to say that once price broke through and closed above and below these levels we could have traded with some confidence that price would return to the breakthrough level. No real revelations here, just support/resistance observations, and yes you can find examples where price didn't return but it's a pretty reliable marker. Perhaps big bank/patience and positive swap may also help when averaging/hedging.
