DislikedLOL Acko,
I don't have either an attic or garage (which keeps me out of trouble accumulating stuff hehehe). But you should see the house tho. Nah I won't make a SCREEN SHOT of my house !!!! But I'll just tell you this, since you're my intimate friend hehe, in my tiny office from where I'm now typing this, I have so MANY PILES OF STUFF that even our DOG (a mature golden retriever) does NOT enter cause he's too afraid of a cataclysmic event happening if a pile decides to BADABOUM and then we enter into a major domino effect. And that's just my office.
Except I understand my own chaotic system. And everytime I decide to put some order into this mess, then I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ANYMORE !Ignored
Dislikedi have been trading off 5 and 15 min. next week I'll be on 10min, 30 min and 4hour
not at the same time, because that's greedy lolIgnored
DislikedHey thanks for that Musketeer,
However for various reasons (geographical mainly and I won't get into details) my possibilities are quite limited (because of laws and such I can't open an account in the US). My current options are only Questrade and Oanda (and if I had more capital, I would definitely look into Interactive Brokers - but they have a 25K$ min. opening amount and I'm not there yet)
But anyway, thanks for sharing that , others might benefit from the info.Ignored
DislikedJust for those who haven't pondered upon the carry trade. I just thought I'd mention this.
This thread isn't about carry trades, however it might be of some help just to KNOW this.
GBPJPY is a total winner (see attached table). In an uptrend, that is.
Here is how things are calculated. The interest rate in the UK is (last time I checked anyway) 5.5%. In Japan (hi my friends in Japan where it's currently 9:50 am SATURDAY morning - here's it's 8:50 pm FRIDAY evening amazing, I still can't grapple this time difference thing chatting with people who are in MY TOMORROW, my future! but at the same time lol)
OK so interest differential is 5.75 - 0.5 = 5.25%
If you're in a long trade @ 17h your time, your broker will debit your account with interest (regardless of if trade is in the red or green -- or in any other colour for that matter).
Calculate this. On 100 K (1 lot standard account) 5% per year is 5,000$ USD. However, GBP versus USD is about twice, so 5,000$ becomes 10,000$ USD.
So you just take out a long, on a Tuesday morning when in an uptrend, an away you go making about 30$ a day interest (which eventually adds up to 10K after one year, regardless of if the actual price is going up or down).
Now of course, we'd rather have the price GO UP, understand me here lol. But apart from the July Aug retrace, it's BEEN going up ever since 2000 I believe.
Making a 10K gain on 100K is cool (10%). But here, ya don't need to put up 100K because you're using 100:1 leverage (on most accounts this is standard leverage), you only need about 2K of your own cash (or only one on 200:1 leverage). Fire up a calculator and do this:
If I can get 10K by putting up 2K, what's my ANNUAL RATE OF RETURN?
Have fun!Ignored
Dislikedmean ?
that is look impressive
and please stay on 5/15 m tf, becoz there isn't 10 m tf on MT4 lolIgnored
DislikedWell before staring at charts took over mine hehehe GAMES took over my life LOL. I can tell you that ALL games (I'm not kidding here) that I ever started, I finished (not that one can't finish a game, but I love reaching my objectives, I'm kinda, hmmm, PERSERVERANT <- is that a word??? ).
Can't name them all, there are too many and I would scare some people off with the actual number (scaring myself off actually ), but stuff like Rise of Nations, Empire Earth, Emperor, Pharaoh, all of the Caesars, Enemy Nations, etc etc along with all the sim elevators, sim farms, sim everything and of course my first love SimCity. I also love action games, I have fond memories of Magic Carpet (a beautiful yet stressful game) and Prince of Persia, and more recently things like Zuma and the like.
--> Does the subject line of this thread say it's "trading related"?
I'm getting there. About 2 years ago (or something) BANG. I install this game, start playing it, and wammo, like Napoleon reaching his Waterloo (sorry for the bad citation, history is not my strongest asset) I -- for the FIRST TIME -- couldn't finish a game. Actually, I think I never even got past level 4 or 5 (of many more than that). Geeze I've managed restaurants, hotels, huge buildings, elevator systems, factory systems, farms, cities, whole COUNTRIES AND NATIONS AGAINST EACH OTHER and I can't do this one.
What was the name of that game? CAPITALIST II (never found CAPITALIST I anywhere, weird)
Anyway so off I go into "real life" trying to learn about finance and managing a company and stock and trades and all that in order to gain some knowledge to get back to CAPITALIST II......... well, I end up not going back to the game at all and actually becoming a trader LOL.
End of story of my life. Now if I can only WIN THIS GAME hehehehe.Ignored
