Gold with No Drama

My thoughts on GOLD :

DT kicked off war on ( SUNDAY ) 1st March ( last month of March contract ) and the next likely one is on ( SUNDAY ) 31st May ( just before start of month of June ) which is last month of June contract .

GOLD reached a high of 5600 with a close of 5550 . Since then it's traded lower to 4650 / 4550 . Headed lower to 3550 - i had mentioned this before but now have a revision on the horizon of a lower target at 3450 .

Interesting thought.

4558–4562 is looking like a strong Fibonacci resistance zone on XAUUSD.
Watching for bearish rejection from this area as smart money may push the market lower from premium prices.

Break-even day for me, got chopped out, but had a couple nice ones off the 15 min.

One mistake I make and see others here doing as well is assuming there is going to be some sort of a bigger move on shorter timeframes.
This does happen but maybe only once a week or less.
Same with $BTC there do come massive moves but for the most part the moves are smaller and range-bound.

I do see $XAU is coiled up once again and whichever way it will go will likely depend more on macro issues than liquidity, IMO.

The price of oil is huge whenever that unwinds $XAU will shoot up; and while it is a game of brinkmanship ultimately the American public will lose interest in things that make their lives more expensive. Thinking about this from a European perspective the price of fuel has doubled - there has to be huge pressure to end the Middle East conflicts as soon as possible. I mean, everyone knows it was a huge mistake, and I feel terrible for the Iranian people (not to mention Lebanon & Palestine). Eventually this reality will move through osmosis to DT even though he loves his military power. I wonder how much of the American national debt is strictly military expenditures? Have they ever even paid off the Vietnam war? Talk about a line of credit paid in blood. This too will unwind eventually. I mean you can only borrow or print so much money before the system just doesn't work anymore.

As a longer commentary most traders alive today have never experienced a true bear market. And most people alive today have never lived in a contracting economy. Eg., one that shrinks instead of grows. This is a normal part of the human experience however. What about another pandemic? Not to be paranoid, but it will happen at some point. My thoughts are the current record highs and epic money printing will eventually turn the other direction. When it happens it will be like a coiled up indicator - very quickly.

There are major macro events on the horizon, like the El Nino summer and likely massive wildfires/evacuations, coupled with increased fuel and food costs, looking towards the summer & autumn, things could get very sketchy in important parts of the world (California, in particular) how this will affect the price of commodities we trade will be interesting to watch play out. AI will have less of an impact than people think as it has almost no affect on real productivity, yet.

In general my thoughts are gold will pull back more, but not as much as predicted by some (thinking ~4300) and then bounce up as oil & equities unwind later this month or into next month (thinking closer to ~5K as we near July).
