I welcome everyone as we start first trading week in TITL.
As the wise men always said 'a journey of thousand light years begins with a single step,' I will start the first day of this threat by sharing the strategy I am personally trading. I gave it no name but for the sake of this identification we can call it 'intraday EMA Cross Over,' but it is more than that. Although it fractal in every time frame, I usually applied it in 15m time frame.

Prerequisites:

  1. Fast EMA 21, I colored it green.
  2. Slow EMA 51, I colored it red. You can use what ever color match your personality.
  3. ATR 10 period.

As we all know, no strategy is 100% perfect, and signal dont come everyday, but when trend is right, it is promising. How it work; Go to 15m time frame, places your EMAs, when EMA crosses, fast EMA is above Slow EMA buy signal, when the fast is bellow, sell signal. signal dont mean buy/sell, it means wait for 1/2 candles to close before execution depending on the momentum, for buy signal wait for bull candle, for sell wait for bear. Place a stop order at slow EMA provided that the stop lost size is less than or equal ATR * 3. Place a take profit order at ATR * 5 or target 1:3rr. Major the market strength, I uses one of the two methods; mathematically calculate ATR 10 * 3 or you can see the market noise using an indicator I developed 'market oscilloscope' it help me visually see the period of volatility or contraction.
You can leave the trade like this, but if you want to maximize your gain, you can pyramid at every 100 pips and trail your stops to the level of slow EMA while maintaining the same TP level for every pyramid step you add. Do not expose yourself beyond your risk threshold.
For XAUUSD you can take this in any session but for other forex pairs like eurusd, gbpusd or even indices like US30 do not take any trade in Asia.

Bellow are the indicator and the example of the strategy, I am using MT5 but I will try and uses tradingview to explain more with probable entries and exits.

This is example of the strategy, I tool this trade, although it is too early but its is gold. It win rate is independent of session. If we lost this it is still part of the math.

Here is a trade I just took on gbpusd, I attached the trading view version for better understanding of the strategy. The beauty part of this method of trading is that, it will give you enough time (15m - 30m) to think and rethink right before you enter a trade, because one you execute, you are expected to stop thinking and just follow the rules, this time is more than enough for to think, why will you chase it? you can see your setup forming why fomo? If you can do that, it will only be a matter of time before you become the GOATs you are aspiring.

Thanks for sharing. That GBPUSD example made it click, the wait-don't-chase logic especially. Took the same setup myself to pressure-test my understanding, and a few things I want to nail before I trust my own execution rather than eyeball it:
1. On that exact GBPUSD chart, which candle is the actual entry? The one that closes back above both EMAs, the next open after it, or the confirmation candle close? Trying to remove my own discretion there.
2. During the 15–30min "thinking" window you described, if price crosses back below the slow EMA before you execute, is the setup dead, or do you still take it when it reclaims?
3. Once you're in: does a later opposite EMA cross close the trade early, or do you always run to SL or TP regardless?
4. The oscilloscope, is there a level on it low enough that you'd skip an otherwise-valid cross? Your basing-zone examples look like a no-trade regime to me but want to confirm that's intentional.

One annotated version of the GBPUSD chart with the entry candle marked would answer most of this in one shot. Appreciate the detail you've put in.

His charts are not very clear, and yours is non-existent....

First I will like to re-mention, the cross over time is just the signal or hit to let you know the direction in progress, not direct buy/sell signal. when the over happened and the candle that causes it closed, is the moment we start counting our entry candle, if the momentum is strong, one bull candle is enough for buy, it is not so strong, you wait for two candles, you dont chase, this where we get 15 - 30m waiting period for decision making. most of the time after cross over, we see can see few opposite candles, this mean you have to wait for price to start trading in your direction. you see, since it is 15m time frame, the max signal you can get in a day is two, in most cases we get one depending on instrument you are trading. Because of the too much wait period associated with this strategy, you will fell bored, frustrated, and intense desire to use different strategy es.pecially if you are used to scalping gold.

If you TP/SL are in a right place they usually get hit before the next cross over.
for the oscilloscope, I made it redesign the actual candles above without showing there direction so that I can see there true size in relation to one another. It is actual price that well aligned in a separate indicator window, if the moving candle are getting smaller it means the volatility is fading, if they are getting longer it means the volatility is high. Because of this discussion, will try and see if there is anything I can add to it.

Thanks, that helps. So I'm reading you right: confirming candle just needs to be the right colour (one green for a long), and I'll take entry on the next candle's open after it — close enough either way for me.

Two things still tripping me up from replaying it:
1. Strong vs not-strong, since that's what decides 1 candle vs 2. Is that read straight off the oscilloscope bars getting longer = strong = 1, bars shrinking = weak = wait for 2 — or do you judge it some other way in the moment? Even a rough "if the last few bars are bigger than the ones before, it's strong" would be enough to make it repeatable.
2. The sequence after the cross. You mentioned we usually see a few opposite candles and then wait for price to start trading our way. Does the confirming candle have to come *after* that pullback against the cross, or if the very first candle right after the cross is already the right colour, do you take that one? I keep entering on the first candle straight after the cross with no pullback first, and those are consistently my worst trades, so I want to know if I'm jumping in too early versus how you actually wait it out.

These attached images may help you visually see it. What determine entry at first or second bar is the overall market strength. If the volatility in your first candle is not enough you wait for the next, but for what ever candle you are executing, wait for it to close it is very important.

Thanks so much for the screenshots, that helps.

The one thing I'm still not sure on: where do those 1-or-2 candles sit relative to the cross? You mentioned earlier that after the cross we usually see a few opposite candles and have to wait for price to start trading our way. So does the confirming candle have to come AFTER price has pulled back against the cross, or if the very first candle right after the cross is already the right colour and strong enough, do you take that one straight away?

I ask because in replay my worst trades are all the ones where I entered on the first candle right after the cross with no pullback first, they tend to enter right as the move that caused the cross is exhausting. Trying to work out if that's me jumping early, or if early entry on a strong first candle is actually correct by your rules.
