Question EURUSD LTF trading

Hi guys,
does anybody have any idea why EURUSD is so difficult to trade compared to other instruments on 1 minute and 5 minute TF? Compared to XAUUSD I'd say it is almost untradable on 1 minute chart. ChatGpt suggests more dense price (3 times more ticks per minute for XAUUSD) but that answers the question only partially because even compared to EURUSD 5m XAUUSD 1 minute char is way easier to read and profitable to trade.

Dear Rgakalo,
The science of market movement is the same across all currency pairs. What changes is the nature of the trend and the sequence of moves, which depend on trading volume and repetitive behavior. If you truly understand how the market moves, you can trade any instrument without issue.
If your results are strong in Gold, why shift your focus to EURUSD? Spend more time refining your profitable system and deepen your understanding of market science. With discipline and consistent practice, the answers will reveal themselves over time.
For Gold, NY session offers superior tradability compared to London.

It is readable. Breakouts, retests, springs, UTs, absorption, all bring expected outcomes, setups have follow-through, in other words, technical analysis works.

I think ChartGTP was correct and it is all related to price density, I made some comparison on tick volume yesterday and it seems that 1 minute XAUUSD chart is comparable to 15 m - 30 m EURUSD chart.

You're speaking in absolutist terms and generalizing. Just because it is difficult for YOU to trade a certain instrument on certain timeframes does not mean that it is absolute universal truth. Do you agree?

The post would have greater practical value for both you and others if you had explained your system and logic so that you could be advised on why YOU are having a hard time trading certain instrument on certain timeframes or whatever. Do you agree?

By the way, when I traded EurUsd, 1 min timeframe was my HTF. I say it for illustration that the fact that you classified 1m and 5m in the LTF category is also of relative nature.

Apologies in advance if my tone is inappropriate and offensive.

Very interesting. What type of model did you use? By model I mean Wyckoff, Eliott, pattern based trading, some staticstics based approach like mean reversion. I'm interested to know what could be working on such a low TF. Also if 1 minute was your HTF how did you manage the spread?

Answering your question I'm speaking from the standpoint of model that I use which is Wyckoff's classical TA.

I get your point about me doing generalization. I think it comes from my believe that I'm judging forces of supply and demand and hence what I do is kind of reading true language of the markets and must have certain predictive power in all liquid markets.

I used a model of logic, common sense, and observation: A small move in price on a higher timeframe is a huge move on a lower timeframe.

The rest is just math and repetition.

Except that just before its launch I stopped trading EU and focused only on MNQ, but the principle is the same.

You can use 0/raw spread accounts. Almost all brokers have them.

Or trade Nasdaq where the spread is only noticeable by its absence.

The reason why EURUSD is more volatile is that its the most popular pair to trade as its obvious synthesized by the two most known currency pairs, EUR & US dollar.

This is from myfxbook. You see the big percentage of open positions on eurusd compared to xauusd.

Too many traders buying and selling at the same time create these mean reversion moves and that is why its good to learn how to trade ranges and not only trends even in bigger timeframes!
