I start by looking at the lowest TF which has momentum turned down where there is a gap between price and the 5SMA. I have seen retraces on TF as small as the 5M but generally only those from 30M on up are noteworthy. Even Aus has said that the 15M retrace is very unreliable. In this case I am looking at the 30M chart. By 0430 GMT (0030 EST) we will know if the 30M has touched the 5SMA. If it has, and the new 30M momentum is turned up, then we know it was a 30M retrace. If price had crashed through the 30 5SMA early on in the candle and continued to move down, then we would look at the next higher up chart where there was negative momentum. In this case, it appears so far to be just a 30M retrace. If the next 30M candle momentum is negative it could fill any gap left between price and the 5SMA. Hope this helps.

I gave Aus the PFE indicator to add a couple of weeks ago and he liked it in VT, if you want to try it the settings are c,8,4. Its great for additional confrimation as to where we are in the cycle as it always has to complete and lines up nicely with the existing indicators.

new 4H candle in 18 mins, if it opens with momentum pointing down, I'll wait for a retrace to 4h 5SMA then long

we will have a new 4H 5SMA in 18 mins, so don't start telling me the price which it is at now newbies, ty

Just woke back up. Went to bed after that stinking downward spike at 8GMT with a small profit only to wake up and see 235.50 had been hit. Anyway, the post you want is #19511. That post contains the numbers of all the other momentum posts I have saved from Aus' teachings on momentum. Post #19346 is a partial explanation of how to follow price using the Momentum and 5SMA indicators. I'll try to put something together this weekend in a more concise post that will cover how I follow Momentum, price and 5SMA. But, remember, I'm just a rookie and i don't know a whole lot about what I am talking about.
