Hi, can you code trading technique of W D Gann on weekly chart. strategy is very simple wait for three weekly up of down candle and then buy or sale at low or high of previous candle. Also do some back testing for strategy. SL is 0.5% of price and Target is 3%.

do you need further explanation of strategy .please let me know

After 10 years in trading and more than 5 years studying COT data and macroeconomic flows, I’ve come to one conclusion:
The closest thing retail traders have to institutional visibility is not price action alone — it’s positioning and macro context.
Most retail traders spend years studying charts, patterns, indicators, and candles. But price without context is incomplete. A market can continue rising while institutional participation is already weakening underneath. That part is invisible if you only study price.
The COT report changed the way I see markets because it shows something deeper: how large participants are positioned, where conviction is increasing or fading, and when structural transitions begin before they become obvious on the chart.
The same applies to macro tools like FRED. Liquidity, rates, dollar strength, credit conditions — these forces shape markets long before retail traders react to them.
That’s why there is so little real information about this topic online. It’s harder to study, less emotional, and far less attractive than “buy/sell signal” content. But in my experience, it is one of the most objective approaches to understanding markets because it is based on real institutional data, not just price interpretation.
Price tells you what the market is doing.
Positioning and macro context help explain why.

You can find yearly rates for Pound:USD back to 1800, just google, idk about other currencies

Of course there was foreign exchange in 1900s, but not as it is since 2000s.
Only national banks could do the exchange, and it worked in a different way, so the data tells us nothing in the context of modern day Forex.

So, as we can clearly see, those are completely different markets with completely different conditions/circumstances.
Therefore, any chart of the whole history doesn't say anything conclusive without knowing the historical background.
And all the technical analysis is pure nonsense...

Example:
