Saying 1 + 1 = 2 is kind of short sighted. It's much more complicated than that

No SMA (Sales, Marketing, Advertising). Just a simple trading group selection. Maybe they can put an option in subscription section to be in one of these groups :-)

Of course we would need to come up with a name for our group :-)

Okay, so your maximum drawdown was probably less than 3%. Well, I think my strategy isn't good enough yet to achieve these results in a short time. I would have to happen to start the calibration at a perfect time when the market was performing perfectly for my strategy. Today was another losing day. Return decreased to 0.54%. Max. drawdown is now -3.23%. Current rating 50.30. Two days left.

Let's see. As long as the drawdown doesn't exceed 10%, I'll leave everything as is for now. I'm still profitable (hooray), but that doesn't mean much without proper allocation, since I'm not making any money this way. As I said, the only option right now would be to buy one or more boosters, but even then I'd have to generate a significant return just to cover the costs.

Hey mate, it fluctuates based on your previous 100 orders (50 entries/50 exits) to give bias to recent execution.

The latency reported is correct as that's what was processed by the broker for the actual investor capital. The weighting is already on the median slippage but with the contingency being it's only the avg. slippage over the previous 100 orders.

Regarding the SP500 strategy, majority of the fills were poor, purely due to the execution being at 11:06PM Sunday every week (that conditions were met), so it was more of a strategy capacity issue than latency reporting. Strange that the GBPJPY strategy had such a poor fill, was most likely due to a spike in volatility causing slippage.

Only thing matters for risk factor is POSITION SIZE nothing else, no risk reward nothing no taking loss early or keeping profits running. Also Darwinex is long term thing one needs to keep that as trading habit to keep getting same result.
Darwin 1
0.01 lot max on gold or silver or NQ one instruement at a time. NO SL, NO TP, kept postions open for significant time through out last 1000 point rally on nq with short position. Same thing with gold NO SL kept position open for 100's of point move.

Darwin 2
same as above with tight SL and reentered multiple times.

No real difference at all.

yes.... -2.41.....

it seems to me low drawdowns helps the math in our rating calculation......

i try to keep mine low...... most of the high flying darwins have maximum drawdowns much higher and still are flying high......

so drawdowns are not a deal killer......h

I think it's not so much a low drawdown per se that helps the rating, but rather the ratio between return and drawdown.

That's the reason for my previous question and why I think risk-to-reward has a significant influence on the rating calculation, which makes sense since all Darwins should ultimately be measured on a level playing field.

A Darwin that has risked $1 and earned an average of $2 is stronger than one that has risked $1 to earn an average of 50 cents.

Perhaps Kieran can tell us the exact calculation behind the rating to guarantee a minimum rating of 75 (even without a prior 6-month track record, which you don't have during the 14-day calibration period).

Like written, based on my own drawdown i used to have at the end of the calibration phase (-2.41%) the rating calculator under the DarwinIA tab showed me, that i’ll need a 5.22% return for the current month for a rating of 75.02. So roughly a 1:2.2 risk:reward ratio required.

I am not sure what it’s now as my drawdown increased to above 3%. If that risk:reward scenario is true and remains I should now even need a >6% return to achieve a rating of 75 (which I’m currently still far away from, 0.5% return and 2 days left for the month)

Even if this ratio is getting lower over time to me it then doesn’t feels like the right way to actually MAKE money if i’ll already need at least 3-6 months under perfect market conditions before I even get to the minimum AuM of 30k but keep paying and paying and paying the monthly subscription fee. 57 EUR/month means quiet a lot of money to me as a low earning solo entrepreneur not having a secure/paid job at a big company. I could better spent it for the gym as for paying a demo account and some fancy metrics but not actually making me any money.

Yes, I hate to be the bearer of bad news.....but, based on ALL of your posts here.....I don't believe Darwinex is for you. Not trying to be negative, but you are looking for something Darwinex is not.

Hey Pip. Yes, I've long understood that Darwinex is a long-term thing, and that's perfectly fine with me. I'm just wondering if the Zero model is right for me, where I pay fixed fees for something I could have for free with a Classic account and the associated Darwin, except that my profits/losses in this account would be 100% mine (minus the commission/spreads).

So I could withdraw them faster, even with low profitability (which I do have), and at any time, not while waiting months/years for some allocations.

In addition to this 100% ownership, I would still have the benefits of the associated Darwin. Unfortunately, I read too late that a Zero account requires a minimum 2% return for a Classic migration, meaning I'll now be paying for at least another month to maintain the Darwin before I can migrate.

Anyhow. So I’ll keep the zero subscription and Darwin until I’m able to migrate it to my live account. As i trade very small size it hopefully shouldn’t affect the leverage/VaR and therefor my good risk multiplier with then trading only a 10k live account vs a 100k demo zero account.

Why not just open a Classic account now?

So let me get this right. You have a live Darwinex brokerage account >= 1000 euros just sitting there with no open trades or trade history. You haven't told the Darwinex client support team that you want it linked to a Darwin Ticker for Darwinia participation. You opened up a DZero demo account just over a month ago wanting to migrate this to your live Darwinex brokerage account, so you don't have to pay subscription fees. You then find out that you need at least 2% return to migrate your Dzero demo account and are going to wait it out until you hit 2%. Meanwhile your live Darwinex brokerage account will be sitting there doing nothing for the next couple of months.

Does that sum it up?

I’ve deposited another 9k to the classic trading account in the meantime otherwise you’ve summed it up correctly.

I believe i will just keep the Darwinex Zero Subscription and it‘s corresponding Darwin and create a new Darwin for my classic account instead of migrating the existing one. I’ll have to further reduce my current trading size anyway as 10k is obviously still 10x less than 100k and the current size i trade probably still way to big then and so will screw my current risk multiplier etc.

It means i’ll keep paying the monthly fee for the current Darwin although I don’t see any big chance I’ll see any kind of return with it in the near future. Maybe have to buy a booster if DarwinIA allocations will take too long. Shouldn’t have subscribed to even monthly payouts but now it is what it is :-/

I think you should book a session with both Kieran and Blayn and maybe even that psychology guy Sanjeev before you do any trading on a live account. Maybe talk about the benefits of investor accounts over trading accounts and also how trading the profits from your investments is a lot easier psychologically than trading your hard-earned deposits into a trading account. Another thing, the effects of adding monthly deposits to investor account as it grows.

there is no way i would ever purchase any booster without complete confidence it would pay out...... see no need to put ourselves under needless stress....

have a little over 20 accounts...... not a single trade open in any right now......

i have a permanent 100k allocation target type that is 80% of the target.....

will not repurchase those that expire......h

May I ask why you are not repurchasing the expiring boosters? You are generating positive ROI with them.

Hi. Unfortunately, I still don't understand how the rating is calculated. My theory that it can be determined from one's own ratio between return and drawdown doesn't seem to hold true when I feed the rating calculator with my current values, where the return is now only slightly higher than in the previous calculation, but the drawdown is significantly higher.

For comparison: When my Darwin account was created, with a return of 1.40% and a maximum drawdown of 2.41%, the rating calculator indicated I would need a return of 5.22% to achieve a rating of 75.02. That's a risk-reward ratio of 1:2.17 (5.22/2.41).

Right now, I have a return of 1.54% in my Darwin with a drawdown of 3.81% and would need a return of 5.50% to reach a rating of 75.01. That's a risk-reward ratio of only 1:1.44 (5.50/3.81).

It seems that other/further factors than just one's own risk/reward yield in the Darwin determine the rating. Perhaps, in addition to calculating the rating, all other current Darwin performances are also taken into account, so that even if my own changes, because the others have also worsened, I suddenly end up with a higher rating despite an even a lower risk/reward ratio as before?

i was not clear on that, should have said will not purchase instant type boosters......

i think it was you and maybe sampat or others changed my view on instants..... the target type are far better.....

in a very real sense you are actually generating income from day 1 of a target boosters purchase...... instead of it going to you, it pays for the booster...... which is still income so to speak.....

when a perfect situation comes around i will purchase a target type...... most likely the 36 month 200k.....h

Thanks. Yes, maybe I should. I don't currently see exactly how they can help me. Regarding the psychological challenge of having my hard-earned money in my own live account, I agree with you, but I'm not worried about that at all. I don't trade manually, and my emotions aren't involved at all. I'm not afraid of losing my entire deposit because, firstly, I would hardly use any leverage, and secondly, I have a hard stop-loss order that means if, for example, my live balance dropped from 10k to 9k, I wouldn't trade any further and risk a total loss (as has often happened in the past).

The real problem I have is that I might be far too risk-averse to actually earn enough money with my current trading approach to achieve my ultimate goal of a regular monthly or quarterly income (cash flow). Or perhaps the strategy/approach simply isn't good enough for that yet

Regarding the Investment account. I'm curious to see if the investment account with Darwinex will perform as expected in the long run, after deducting management and performance fees, and whether it can keep up with my ETF savings plans. I could also imagine regularly depositing capital there, similar to my ETF savings plan. But even with a five- or six-figure investment, that probably wouldn't be nearly enough to live on (my ultimate goal) and I don't have nearly enough money to put in the investment account. The 20k deposited came part of from my crypto sells, that's all I can afford for the moment.
