Best Setup This Week — GBPUSD Long
Price action does not lie. After scanning over ten pairs this weekend, one setup stood above everything else.
GBPUSD has been building a clean markup structure since the January 2025 spring at 1.2200. That move pushed all the way to 1.3750, pulled back hard to 1.3100 in March 2026, and has since recovered with strong bullish displacement candles. The structure is intact. Higher highs, higher lows, no ambiguity.
The current pullback from 1.3600 down to the 1.3440 zone is not a reversal. It is a retest. That area holds a fresh H4 order block, an unfilled fair value gap, and a confirmed H1 change of character. Three confluences lining up at the same level is not something you see every day.
The macro thesis is straightforward. Dollar weakness is the dominant theme right now. AUDUSD is pushing higher, USDCAD is breaking down, USDCHF is at multi-year lows. When every USD pair is telling the same story, you align with the flow rather than fight it. GBPUSD long is the cleanest expression of that theme.
What makes this setup stand out beyond the RR is the combination with EURGBP short. If GBPUSD pushes higher and EURGBP breaks lower at the same time, it confirms GBP strength from two directions. That kind of confirmation rarely shows up in textbook form.

Patience is the edge.

Everyone wants to buy the bottom. That’s the problem.
Price drops into a level, reacts, and suddenly everyone is convinced it’s a “buy zone.” But a zone alone means nothing. The only thing that matters is what price does inside it.
What I’m watching is simple:
4682 is the decision level.
Below it — sellers are still in control.
Above it — buyers are starting to show intent.
Right now we’re seeing acceptance above that level, but no real expansion yet. That’s the difference between anticipation and confirmation.
If this holds and we get continuation, the move into 4694+ makes sense.
If it fails back below, it’s just another trap.

Gold is sitting at 4672, pressing against 4669 support for the fourth time. The level keeps holding. Here are the three ways to play it.
Aggressive — buy now at market. The sweep of 4669 is there, the compression is real, and London opens in a few hours. Stop at 4655, targets 4720 and 4790.
Confirmation — wait for a 15-minute candle to close above 4678 with a strong body. That candle is the signal. Same stop and targets.
Conservative — place a buy limit at 4669. If price dips one more time, you get a better entry. Stop at 4650, same targets above.
All three point to the same trade. The difference is how much evidence you need before pulling the trigger.

Gold — What Just Happened and What Comes Next
Gold dropped 90 dollars overnight, from 4730 down to 4641. No real bounce, no pause, just a straight sell-off through every support level that looked clean on the chart.
I was long from 4669. The stop was too tight. Price took it out and kept going. That is the honest version of events.
Here is what the setup looked like on paper. The H4 order block between 4650 and 4700 was legitimate. The daily structure is still bullish. The spring at 4097 in March was real, the move to 4900 was real, and the pullback into the order block made sense technically. The problem was not the zone. The problem was execution.
Gold needs room to breathe. A six dollar stop on a pair that moves thirty dollars on a slow day is not a stop, it is a guaranteed exit. The zone was right. The stop was wrong.
Where we are now is actually more interesting. Price is sitting at 4641, which is the lower end of the fair value gap and closer to where a real institutional entry makes sense. The daily bias has not changed. The weekly structure has not changed. What changed is that the weak hands got cleaned out, which is exactly what a market does before it moves in the intended direction.
The trade is not dead. It got reset.
What I am watching for now is a 15-minute bullish engulf or a strong close above 4660 during London open. That candle, in that session, with that structure behind it, is the actual entry signal. Not a zone. A candle in a zone during the right session.
If 4590 breaks on a daily close, the thesis is off entirely.

Gold update.
Closed the position at 4633 for a small gain. London opened with selling pressure and the structure did not give a clear bullish signal, so I stepped aside.
The zone between 4620 and 4650 is still valid. If price holds here and London gives a clean reversal candle, the long is back on the table with a proper stop below 4590.
Watching. Not chasing.

Anatomy of a Wyckoff Spring — EURJPY
EURJPY gave us a textbook spring yesterday. The methodology is worth more than the trade itself, so here it is.
A spring is not a wick below support. It is three things in sequence: a deliberate sweep of the stops resting below a prior swing low, executed with displacement (sharp, body-dominant, not a drift), and a return inside the range within a short window. If any of those three fail, you are looking at a breakdown, not a spring.
EURJPY ticked all three. The wick to 186.05 took out the 186.30 range low. The recovery to 186.50 happened in a single 15-minute candle. The price stayed inside the range for hours afterwards.
The hard part is not seeing it. The hard part is not acting on the wick. Most retail traders sell the break of support, which is exactly what the institutions need them to do. The defence is patience: you wait for a higher low, then a clean break of structure to the upside. On EURJPY that meant the 186.45 HL and the close above 186.78. Entry was on a retracement to broken structure at 186.65, stop below the spring wick at 186.20, targets laddered from 187.10 to 188.30.
Then comes the part nobody talks about. The trade went into a four-hour consolidation. A US news release printed in the middle of it. The first target tagged the obvious inducement at 187.10. Each of those is a reason most traders close, and each one has to be ignored if the structural thesis is intact.
No indicators were used or needed. Candle structure — displacement, wick ratios, body-to-range, close location within the swing — is the leading information. Indicators only confirm what the structure has already told you.
Wyckoff is not prediction. It is recognising the specific behaviours institutions have to perform to fill size. Once you know the fingerprint, the question changes from "where is the market going" to "is this the behaviour I need before I act." The second question is much easier to answer.

USDCAD played out clean today, but only if you were patient enough to read the structure.
Price broke below 1.367, came back for a retest, failed to hold, and then pushed lower with momentum. That’s the kind of move you want to see — not just a level, but acceptance below it.
The key wasn’t the initial rejection. It was what happened after.
Break, retest, and then continuation.
Once 1.3655 gave way, the move expanded quickly. At that point, the trade was already in motion — not the place to chase, but to manage if you were already in.
The real entry was earlier, on the retest. The rest is just execution.
Not every move needs to be traded. But when structure, timing, and confirmation line up, it becomes very straightforward.
That’s the difference between reacting to candles and understanding what price is actually doing.

Structure: D1, H4, H1, M15 all bullish. Full alignment. CHoCH on H1 confirmed. Equal liquidity above. RR potential 1:3.8.

3. Target: 0.8788
4. Invalidation: below 0.8617

Looks like a clean setup. It isn't.
The problem:
Price sits 36 pips above POI in a high-volatility regime. Entering here means buying from institutions who already loaded at 0.8617. You become their exit liquidity if the move stalls.
No volume confirmation on M15. The recent up-candles lack institutional participation. The biggest volume spikes in the last 48 hours were on red candles, not green - institutions distributing, not accumulating.
My plan:
Not entering. Waiting for one of two scenarios:

1. Pullback to 0.8617 with bullish volume - long entry, SL below 0.8590, target 0.8788.
2. Break above 0.8665 with strong bullish candle and volume spike - breakout entry, SL below 0.8635.

Without one of these, the setup only looks ready. It isn't.
Key takeaway:
High score doesn't justify automatic entry. Good analysis confirms entries AND identifies when to wait. My biggest losses came from setups that looked perfect on the surface but lacked confirmation underneath.
Going long EURGBP here might work long term. But statistically, entering far from POI without volume confirmation traps more traders than it rewards.

Above us sits 1.2245 - the prior high that acts like a magnet, with equal highs sitting right above it offering buy-side liquidity. A break above opens the path toward 1.2280 and then 1.2350.
The Stop Loss below 1.2155 protects against a break of local structure - if price closes below this level, the bullish thesis breaks and we exit. No second-guessing.
Risk-to-reward: 1:3 to 1:5+ - asymmetry firmly on the bullish side.

Two weeks of consolidation at the highs can resolve either way. Right now, price action alone doesn't tell us which.
Need to see before entry:

1. Break above 1.2237 on M15 with displacement
2. Clean retest holding as support
3. Higher high on H1

Until then - hands off. The best setups don't need to be talked into.
