I am doing a backtest on an intraday timeframes ( 5 min & 15 min ), and I use MT4 platform
And I want to be able to see past events on the chart ( only 3-star and high-level impact news ), with each event/news shown on the day it happened

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Yes, that’s definitely possible
You basically have two options:
1) Use a news indicator (like Forex Factory news indicator)
It can display past and upcoming news directly on your chart, including high impact events. Most of them allow filtering (e.g. only 3-star news).
2) Use historical data export
If you need it for more precise backtesting, you can download historical news data (CSV/XML) and combine it with your chart manually or via a custom indicator.
For MT4 specifically, the easiest way is to use a news indicator that reads Forex Factory calendar data and plots vertical lines on the chart.
That should already give you a good visual reference for past high impact events

MT4 doesn’t natively show past high-impact news on charts, so you’ll need a custom news indicator (like ones that pull from Forex Factory) or manually mark events by checking historical data on sites like Investing.com and matching them to your chart.

Hello, some MT4 indicators can pull and display economic calendar events on charts, including historical events.
Examples include:
News indicators that use data from Forex Factory
Indicators connected to Myfxbook Economic Calendar
Commercial MT4 news/calendar indicators sold on the MQL5 Market
The limitation is that many free indicators only show upcoming news and don't maintain a complete historical database for old backtests.
