EURUSD is frontrunning a peace deal and the complete opening of the strait of Hormuz but yet the talks hasn't started and institutions might be at the sidelines.

I think that as long good news are coming out for a deal eu should gradually advance but if new bombings and no deal news come out then a break below support at 1.1640 might trigger more selling.

The EUR/USD stayed below 1.1723 resistance after holding 1.1640 support and is consolidating with a bullish to neutral bias near 1.1700. If it manages to hold the round number, I expect a move beyond the short-term double top toward 1.1743 resistance first, and 1.1800/35 if the move proves stronger. A failure to hold above 1.1700 will result in a drop to test 1.1640/50, with risk skewed lower to 1.1600/13 if this support zone breaks.

The market is waiting for the us cpi release today. If the numbers come green then eu can't rise but search for strong support and rise in case the talks that start today in Islamabad between iran and us succeed a bigger opening to the hormuz straits or a peace deal. From the other if talks fail a sharp break below 1.1600 will open the road for lower levels. Also red cpi numbers will test the short term double top pattern but as weekend is near institutions will prefer to see what the next 48 hours will bring to the deal before they start buying or selling.

Agree it "should" have taken off 1.18 goal

If the Michigan confidence comes in low (I expect it will) E/U should reach 1.1780-1.18

The EUR/USD rose from 1.1505 to 1.1739 last week. This 200+ pip jump shifted the trend from bearish to slightly bullish. We are now seeing the price slow down as it hits 1.1742 and 1.1800/34, a known area of heavy selling. Support at 1.1640 is keeping this uptrend intact and only a break lower will shift attention toward the 1.1588 support or the 1.1505 low, provided market conditions are strong.

Weekly volatility (range) 109 pips

Significant news - US PPI, US Initial Jobless Claims & US Industrial Production.

Weekend Review: Longer Term Bias has shifted to Bullish H8 with HH and HL's crossing over the 200 EMA watched by Institutional Players. Short term Bias is Bearish with a pull back to the 200EMA on the M15. Friday's move up 'moonwalking' simply ran out of steam and dribbled sideways ALL AFTERNOON until profit taking set in at the close on the M2. I will be looking to go long around 1.69ish if the Bulls are kicking up some dust. Shorting a bullish trend is risky but can be done with the right context and tight stops. I'm to old for that shit unless it really burning down the house.

1.1665 – 1.1670 from Thursday, April 9th has been breached, and we now have support.

Most important now:
S: 1.1670 – 1.1685 (Main)
R: 1.1725 – 1.1750 (Current ceiling)

  1. CHOCH = 1.1530 (macro trend shift)
  2. BOS = 1.1685 (trend confirmation)
  3. next BOS = 1.1725 (if broken)

bullish continuation phase after BOS


around R: 1.1725

  1. weakening momentum
  2. multiple rejections (wicks)
  3. small candles = absorption / indecision
  4. pattern (wedge / rising channel exhaustion)

this is typical for:
distribution / short-term top

even though the trend is bullish (CHOCH + BOS):
a short-term pullback may occur

The EUR/USD dropped to 1.1670 after the opening, creating a gap that finds overhead resistance at the 1.1739 high. While 1.1643 is supporting a neutral to bullish trend, caution is advised as long as the pair trades below the 1.1747 resistance level. A break below support will shift the outlook to some bearish, with 1.1600-1.1588 as the next potential targets.
