To be honest, Gold is being very merciful. It goes back and forth even when it pumps. No more straight line like the bull market. It even left a bottom wick at 4725, which will probably revisit at some point.

this is volatile yet healthy consolidation. People said they were crazy calling $5000 gold. Either way short term or long term from here....for at least 2 weeks gold will be favored. Printing of money globally and debt are there and will continue to be there until China is bullying everyone around in 50 years...or less.

fomc will talk about inflation so expect gold to fall , because even with ceasefire and oil falling from high the economy does not just flip a switch

I would say highly probable. A US pre market smash that gets absorbed and kicked back up will be a sign you are on the right track.

The next move up will be due to shorty covering. Or highly probable. Shorts are effectively trapped. News feed now against them and the debt and Private Equity Debt now starts to come into the news. Canada sitting on a housing and condo crisis soon as well.

Price say we are bullish...
And we will be unless we close again below 4657.280, is just price doing what he normal do and i can mention at least 4 reasons to the pullback and all were mention today or this week after the breakout.
But again a day ending in volatiity breakout is rare let price do what normally do.
Yes before the open already the push was settled...
We had narrow monday, we had his breakout, align with tuesday, we had a small 1h close dismiss and we reject a 50% close (18 Mar )....
Not to mention an early talk about IB's and the origin of it...
I prefer see price efficient, but we take what they give not that they possible can...
And obvious is not the best buy short term but still buy. We only need to have caution not believe we really gonna shift.

Call me what you will, but I think anything could happen. We are neither bullish nor bearish. The price could simply return to yesterdays level. Or it could continue to rise. There is no analysis here, it's a fair game with the politicians.
