Holding trades into the weekend is not a strategy. It’s a decision.
After a good move, the question is no longer “where will price go” —
it’s “how do I protect what I already made”.
Going into the weekend, risk changes:
liquidity drops, gaps happen, and control disappears.

GBPAUD – This Is Where Most Traders Get Trapped
Price is reacting exactly where it should.
Everyone sees the move up…
and starts thinking: “trend is changing.”
But look closer.
This is not a breakout.
This is a reaction into a supply zone.
The market is still making lower highs.
Still respecting the structure.
Right now price is stuck between:
1.9150 – resistance
1.9030 – support
That’s not a trend.
That’s a trap.
Most traders lose here because they try to predict.
They buy resistance.

Break above 1.9150 — then we talk buys
Break below 1.9030 — then continuation sells
Until then?
Nothing to do.

EURAUD – Clean Level, Messy Thinking
Price is not random.
It just reached a key zone…
and now everyone is guessing.
Some see a reversal.

Look at the structure:
Higher timeframe = still bearish context
Current move = correction into supply
Now price is reacting around:
1.6730 – resistance
1.6650 – support
Right in the middle.

Break above 1.6730 → buyers in control

NZDUSD – Everyone Sees the Drop. Few Understand It.
Price is falling…
so most traders are already thinking:
“Too late to sell.”
“Time to buy.”
That’s exactly how they get trapped.
Look at the structure:
Lower highs
Lower lows
Clean bearish flow
This is not exhaustion.
This is continuation behavior.
Right now price is sitting on a key level:
0.5680 – support
And this is where the game starts.
Two scenarios. No guessing:
Break below 0.5680 → continuation sells
Strong rejection → short-term pullback
But understand this:
A pullback is not a reversal.
It’s just a better price to sell.
Most traders try to catch bottoms.
Smart traders follow pressure.
No break = no trade
No confirmation = no entry

GBPJPY Update — Patience Paying Off
Quick update on the GBPJPY trade I shared earlier.
After the news spike, the key was simple:
Stay patient. Let the market show its hand.
No chasing. No emotional entries.
Just structure → rejection → execution.
Now after one full session, price is doing exactly what we wanted:
Lower highs holding
Bearish pressure continuing
Follow-through is clean
This is the difference between reacting… and reading the market.
Most traders get caught in the first move after news.
But the real edge comes after the chaos — when structure returns.
Trade is still developing, but direction is clear so far.

GBPJPY — The Real Edge: Trade Management
A lot of traders focus on entries.

they sell resistance — instead of selling the reaction.
Here’s what actually happens:
price reaches a key level, everyone jumps in short…
then the market pushes higher, takes their stops — and only then drops.
That’s not random.

The real setup isn’t a “nice level”
it’s this:
break → pullback → failure
That’s where the edge is.
Resistance alone = guessing
Reaction + break = a trade
Once you understand this, you stop chasing
and start waiting.

Entered short after a false breakout above resistance (211.50 area).
Price failed to hold above and showed immediate rejection.
Entry: 211.30–211.40
Stop: above 211.60
TP: 211.00 (first), 210.70 if momentum continues
Clean liquidity grab and rejection. Quick execution, no guessing.

@meirk what is the difference between when a price break amd retest yhe levl and when a price react at a level and reverse then retest it again, how do you advise i resolve that kind of chart or market

  1. Price made a strong impulsive move up
  2. Now sitting in a tight range around 159.60–159.80
  3. You already had the move → now it's distribution / chop

Key levels:

  1. Resistance: 159.80–160.00
  2. Support: 159.20–159.30

Play (only if clean setup appears):
Option 1 – Sell the highs (only with rejection)

  1. Entry: ~159.80–160.00
  2. SL: above 160.20
  3. TP: 159.20

Option 2 – Buy only on breakout + hold

  1. Entry: above 160.00 with strong candle
  2. SL: 159.60
  3. TP: 160.50+

What NOT to do:

  1. Don’t enter in the middle (159.60 area)
  2. Don’t chase after that big move already happened

Bottom line:
Right now = wait
This is classic trap zone before next move
If you want sharp trading — wait for:

  1. fake breakout → sell
    or
  2. clean breakout → buy

Nothing in between.

how are you going with your GBPJPY sells? I notice you have about 5 sells, starting from your lowest sell at 210.70. That's about 75 pips in the red now as price has been pushing up strongly. Are you still holding all these sells?

Hi,
Yes, I had multiple sell positions building into the resistance zone.
At this stage I’m managing risk rather than adding — if price accepts above the key level, I’m out.
If not, I’m still positioned for a rejection from the range high.
It’s not about being right immediately, it’s about being positioned where the invalidation is clear.
Let’s see how it reacts here.

Good question.
The difference is acceptance.
If price breaks a level and then retests it while holding above/below it — that’s acceptance, and I treat it as continuation.
If price only reacts at a level and reverses without acceptance, then a retest is usually just another test of the same range, not a true breakout.
For me the key is not the touch, but the close.
I need to see a clear close beyond the level before treating it as a break.
If there is no clear acceptance, I assume it’s still ranging and I trade it as a range, not a breakout.

thanks for the update. i'm impressed with your patience. As a Recovering Scalpoholic I struggle with holding trades for anything more than a few hours.
I am re-wiring the synapses though, gradually.

Please excuse me to make it clear: Market always come back to the break-out point, and may be try to reverse the trade 2-3 times but fail and follow the trend trade. It's true if the break-out is inside the length wave about 1/3 or 1/2, but it's untrue if it reach almost full length wave, it's market rejected and reverse the trend trade (Bullish/Bearish Trade)
So how to know the length wave ?: Depend on what timeframe trader use. With me i trade D1, so i found my length wave normally around 500-600 pips. People trade difference timeframe H4/H1/15min.... so they must study the length wave on their timeframe. Note: this is for currency market, other instruments have difference length wave.

AUDJPY Trade Plan – Clean Execution & Risk Control
Closed my previous positions and reset completely. No revenge trading – just structure.
Current situation:
Price broke above the key level around 110.60–110.65 and is holding above it. This is the first sign of strength after a prolonged downtrend.
Step 1 – Entry:
I took an initial LONG position after the break and hold above the level.
This is a “confirmation entry”, not anticipation.
Risk:
Stop loss below 110.20
Position size controlled – no overexposure
Step 2 – Adding position (ONLY with confirmation):
I will NOT add randomly. Second position will be added only if the market proves continuation:
Option A – Momentum breakout:
If price breaks and closes strong above 110.80 and continues pushing up → I will add a second 0.05
Option B – Retest entry (preferred):
If price pulls back to 110.60–110.65 and shows bullish rejection → I will add there
Step 3 – Risk management:
Once price moves ~25–30 pips in profit:
→ Move SL to breakeven
→ Only then consider scaling further
Key principle:
No adding in the middle. No guessing. Only reaction to price.
Lesson:
The difference between gambling and trading is simple:
Patience + confirmation + controlled risk.
Let’s see how price behaves.

Price is reacting around a key zone: 1.6650–1.6700.
And this is exactly where most traders lose money.
Why?
Because they try to predict instead of waiting for confirmation.
This is NOT a clean entry area.
This is a trap zone.
So the plan is simple — no guessing, only reaction.
--- If price shows strength and accepts above the zone
- continuation higher is in play
--- If price rejects the zone and fails to hold above it
- continuation down is the higher probability
Right now?
There is NO edge in the middle.
And that’s the part most people don’t understand.
They see movement…
They feel urgency…
They jump in.
That’s not trading. That’s emotional decision making.
Key mindset:
We don’t predict — we react.
Let the market prove itself first.
--- If you’re trading inside this zone without confirmation, you’re not following a system — you’re gambling.

AUDJPY – What’s really going on here?
After a strong move up, price reached a key resistance zone around 110.80
and since then it’s not breaking, but it’s not dropping either.
What you’re seeing is not really a “pullback up”
it’s something more interesting:
Compression below resistance
Small candles, wicks on both sides, lack of commitment —
this is exactly where the market decides its next move.
There are only 2 scenarios here:
1. Continuation
Price holds above 110.65 → clean break above 110.80 → trend continues
2. Long trap
Failure to break → drop below 110.65 → fast move down
Right now I’m in with a single position
no chasing, no overloading.
Adding?
Only if the market proves continuation, not based on feelings.
Price is reacting around a key zone: 1.6650–1.6700.
And here’s the line that will probably trigger some debate:
Most traders don’t lose because they’re wrong on direction — they lose because they enter too early.
Smart money waits for confirmation.

AUDJPY – Adding to a winning position
Price finally broke above 110.80
and this time it wasn’t hesitation — it was a clean breakout.
Strong close, no immediate rejection, and continuation pressure building.
This is where many traders hesitate…
or worse — start taking profits too early.
I did the opposite.
I added a second position — not because I “feel” it will go higher,
but because the market proved continuation.
That’s the difference.
Adding is not about confidence — it’s about confirmation.
But here’s the key part most traders miss:
You don’t add randomly.
You add with structure.
Either:

  1. on a clean breakout (like now), or
  2. on a controlled pullback into support

Not in the middle. Not out of fear of missing out.
And definitely not because the trade is already in profit.
Scaling in correctly is what turns a good trade into a great one.
The real edge is not the entry —
it’s how you build the position.
