This guy started showing up i my feed a few days ago.

Just goes to show the "real" money i trading is running a youtube channel and selling course.

I would think that's got to be true for at least 90% of these channels who really knows but I think it's high percentage...

What's a good educator I think somebody died helps you in some way peeling back the onion.

As for trade reports broker statements screenshots of trades and absolutely anything to do with mt4mt5 I take with the very big grain of salt....

Hi,

I’m looking for a bit of help with Bookmap. I started using it about a month ago, so I’m still figuring out a lot.
I mainly trade NQ and ES, with entries on the 1-minute timeframe, and I’d like to make my reading simpler, cleaner, and clearer. The more I learn, the more I realize there’s a lot to filter out.
If you have a few tips to help me simplify my reading and focus on what really matters, I’d really appreciate it.

Nothing against Bookmap but I choose not to use that took.. is it useful? For sure ..it's just not for me.

Information overload that leads to more rules more decisions etc.. sometimes less can be more. I only speak for myself. Each added layer requires the brain to process that info in relation to your setup.

I will.post up some charts , shortly, i have from this morning. Perhaps they might help you..

This is a business of you vs you...You are the variable....Not me, not my charts, not bookmap, not the timeframe nor the indicators of any type.
We all see the charts slightly different even if we are trading the same charts same rules.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. People here are genuinely generous with their help, and I really appreciate that.

I liked your approach a lot, because it comes down to a simple and structured idea "determine whether the market is balanced or imbalanced" - "if it is balanced, fade the edge of valu" - "if it is imbalanced, look for trend continuation from that edge". It is a very complete way to approach key market levels, so thank you for sharing it.

On my side, I feel that Bookmap helps me mostly with execution. Not to build the bias, but to confirm whether a key level is being absorbed, accepted, or broken, and to read the microstructure at the right location. I find that it helps a lot with cleaner execution.

So, I tried to apply your logic to the March 31 session. This is just a short analysis, but my read was the following: since the London open, price was holding above the daily VWAP, then it worked around PD VAH and eventually broke it after consolidation, later during NY AM, price came back to test the area as support, with confluence from PD VAH, the daily VWAP, and the IB low, before pushing higher again. In my read, that looked more like acceptance above the previous value area than just a simple break.
If that read is broadly correct, then I think I understood in the broad sense and on this specific case, the idea you were trying to show

Great chart and read... Some further notes.

Look at yesterday's IB H/L .. The market today opened in balance ..within yesterday's IB range. With the VP it opened slightly OOB...
The candle you have circled was a perfect pullback to the levels you have marked + others not mentioned that indicated a long entry at that 10:55 candle...

Many clean setups 5 I think there was ? in the first 2 hours of the ES session and some scalps pre mkt 8-930...

Know your setups ..have confidence in them... Execute them...

I will say this ...I was also watching VOLD at the open...as we had a large RTH gap... But the market internals were only showing strength right from the open.. VOLD is simply a form of volume differential or Delta across the whole market...showing the net difference between advancing stocks and declining across the whole market.(Exchange NYSE)..... A whole nother topic

I understand it much better now..

It feels like yesterday was the kind of session where this type of reading was especially clear, and it really shows how little each level is random.

Books, mentors, or even frameworks that you built for yourself. I went through your thread and I believe I heard you mention Chris Drysdale and Mark Douglas, whose book Trading in the Zone I have also finished.

The beginning of the real paradigm shift with me was when I learned about AL Brooks
5m-18bar probabilities... Thats when my mind shifted to probabilistic behaviour type of thinking.
and thus Timings Levels Behaviour of Price (Stacey Burke)

I poured over years of charts going thru every single NY session on multiple instruments.
I plotted the 18 bars I plotted 12 bars IB...I plotted the 50% level I plotted fib levels of the IB range
or Range Expansions. And with that I found for ex when a 5m bar closes outside of the IB there is a 90+%
probability that a certain extension will be hit.

All done manually by hand by scrolling the charts back a minimum of 3 yrs and then plotting each day
and then all written in a notebook..THen when done crunch the numbers by hand.
I have been looking at, observing, trading charts since around 1980... Back then I drew Line charts'
by hand on graph paper from the Newspaper stock quotes.. Thats how I started paper trading literal paper trading.
Open High Low Close Vol and change.

I really dont believe in software backtesting...for me...I know it works and a hell of alot more efficient than what I do.
BUT software is and never will be a replacement for your eyes and pen and paper. There is a real connection that happens
when one observes years of daily PA day by day with handwritten notes. THere is a connection from the mind to the eyes
to the hands to the paper.. THats me Old School Blue.. Nowadays we have things like Edgeful..amazing stuff truly,,,,

Its why I say pay attention to the Open amongst many other things. Why because I have observed these things literally thousands
upon thousands of time. Experience,, the Correct experience,, "Can" give one an edge upon itself.

Although I have been very good at reading charts..bare naked charts...The system and method edge components really solidified
with studying AMT Balance and Imbalance ...Wheres Value on different timeframes etc. And that Drysdale helped me crystallize
my clarity of Behaviour of Price in simple terms... I am a simple guy a simple trader and although I completely understand
BookMap..Do I need those extras ? 100% no..and perhaps thats from decades of trading tens and tens and tens of thousands of
hours behind the controls.

I prefer a naked chart but my personality struggles with adhereing to rules on a blank chart... Like the smart ass who commented here
the other week that all one needs is a naked chart... No shit Sherlock..but they are obviously newer 15 20 years or less I digress,,, lol

But AMT Volume Profile VWAP and IB are the bees knees for me and my mind that I can develop all my IF THIS THEN THAT rules and
methods around.... Long winded way of saying there has been so many influences on my trading... Linda Raschke of course too !.....

Lastly its you vs you....whatever works for you and your psyche....thats whats most important...A thousand different ways one can trade,,,,
I only show what makes sense and works for me after many years of refinement and still learning every day just like all of us

Lastly a few follow up charts...what does it show ? It shows(in my eyes),,,,, Institutional ( large Money) levels and behaviours.
