I don't know how much this has already changed the price of gold but Russia is restricting the amount of gold a person can export to 100 grams from May 1st

Brother, honestly speaking, my trading is 95% technical and only 5% fundamentals. I simply avoid Gold trades during high‑impact events like FOMC or NFP. For me, the chart itself reflects market volume, so I don’t concern myself with Powell or interest rates.

The current trend on Gold is SELL. However, lower time frames remain messy, which makes clean breakout trades difficult in this pre‑NY session. For now, only sell reversal trades are viable. The suitable breakout zone sits near $4,580, with a target area around $4,450. (Entry triggers only if the market forms a strong resistance in our preferred area).

Gold is currently consolidating after recent movement.

We're currently sitting on the top of the s/r zone created from the 2/2 and have set a higher high from the 20/3 - enough to bring in the break-out traders
Whales love money, so the chance of SLs and panic closing from here is high
Not ready for a short yet, but I don't see the price going up much from here (in the short term)

Gold Chart Analysis | April 1, 2026 – Major Levels & Trade Setup
Dear Gold Traders,
The trend in gold remains bearish, similar to yesterday, and today we anticipate continued selling pressure. Price may climb a few hundred pips above the current level of $4,730 before forming strong resistance on the 30M timeframe. Once that resistance is confirmed, we’ll look for a reversal buy setup, with targets at:
First target: $4,710
Second target: $4,690
Alternatively, if resistance forms ($4,740) during the Pre-NY session on the 30M chart , we may have a scalping opportunity on the sell side, with the same target area at $4,710.

I waited nearly six hours for this sell setup, and patience finally paid off. That’s the beauty of Gold- it only rewards disciplined traders. Some days, you can’t fight the trend or flip your bias; today was one of those days. I’m wrapping up with a solid +2.79% gain. Done for the day.

Gold crashed from $4,800 to $4,590 - a move that was entirely predictable if you know how to read price action and levels. (Just look back at my last two days of analysis.) Now, gold is opening the door for both buyers and sellers; the market is setting up for an open battleground where either side can take control.

We've bounced off the trendline from 23/3, and this is the 5th interaction at this TL.
I'm still looking at a deeper low for that pinbar on the H1 on the 23rd
The sell condition is still on the H1 and D1, with H4 running flat after this last movement.
We have an H1 pinbar that happened this afternoon - there will be some covering of that tonight (at a guess)
It won't happen tonight, but I do see a lower low coming - selling off is due to reducing holdings over the long weekend
