The last hour of the US market is going to be interesting. Either we will stumble to closing at basically current level, or there will be a big drop as people move money out of the market in anticipation of further declines. I expect a drop, since any prudent investor should want to step to the sidelines for a while.

The one thing I don't see is a big surge up at the close.

anyone here use Anti-hedging technique? it is worth considering.. specially since Jacko made $250k in 8 months using it..

I'm trying it on a long i lost way up around 233.. we shall see..

How many times we see our stop loss hit only to curse when the price comes back and hits the target....

This guy uses this.. and has made loads of money on it.. he is going in at around $1500 a pip on eur/usd.. (which is about as different from our GBP/JPY as you can get in terms of volatility), but hey.. it seems like a nice idea to me..

what you think.. check out his thread on Jacko's house of pain and pleasure..

He seems like a nice guy from his posts.. and the people on the thread are friendly.. (not as good as here of course!!)

He is a great guy and excellent trader.
but you can't apply this on gbp/jpy because it is very volatile compared to eur/usd.
eur/usd if it retrace it go back max 100 pips a day, you can see that in less then 5 minutes sometimes in gbp/jpy.

I still don't understand why the stock market crash causes us dollar to go up against other currencies.

Is this particularly for carry trades? I see Euro going down as well. why do you think this is the case and how far low you think Euro might go.

The US dollar has historically been the safest currency in the world, and the one most likely to retain value. As a result, during turbulent times, people have moved their assets into dollars and dollar-denominated securities (such as treasury bonds).

This characteristic is still in effect to a degree, hence the strenghtening of the dollar over the last few weeks. However, the federal government has let our financial house get so out of order that the days of the dollar being the safe currency are almost over. Peak oil, the ongoing economic collapse, and the exponential growth of world currencies are going to hit the dollar even more than other currencies, and I believe the dollar is going to drop a lot very soon (within the next year).

Of course, I also believe that we are going to see the end of the 35 year world experiment in fiat currencies, and we are going to see a merger in currencies and a return to currencies backed by something (almost certainly gold). This will probably occur in the next 5-10 years, and will basically put an end to currency trading.
