Has the update function stopped working on this for anyone else?

It's still a great tool, but now when I update it shows zeros for the prices.

Yahoo changed their website layout!

Sorry about that. I don't know what happened. I zipped it using winrar and uploaded it. I double checked the file on my disk and it was empty

I've done the same thing again this time it's 34kb.

I've changed the name and uploaded it again.

Firehouse,

Can you reprogram it to get instant data? It would be a great add on. I will try to tweak it to metatrader. You can get a metatrader interface if you get the Metatrader Demo Account and just download their free software. Once you are logged on you can interface it with excel in real time.

I probably could if I spent enough time on it. But I don't require real time prices in a spreadsheet.

I use the spreadsheet to quickly calculate my entries sizes when entering a trade.

It also additional helps me work out with my 'locked' in profits if I'm entering further positions based on the locked in profits.

Sure. It's very simple code anyway Excel macros is not my strong point!

I would suggest having a second button something along to lines of "MT4 FX prices" so people have the option of getting it from off the web if they are not running MT4.

With your blessing, I have updated your spreadsheet to include current prices through MetaTrader terminal DDE server.

In order to function your MT client terminal MUST be up and running with the DDE Server enabled. The DDE Server option can be located under
Tools -> Options -> Server -> Enable DDE server.

The current Price will reflect bid/ask only after buy/sell is selected and then the "Get MT Prices" button is pressed. I wasn't going to spend a ton of time to make it update just by pressing the buy/sell button. By the time you fool with this spreadsheet the price will have changed anyway.

I dont know but i have some problems by refreshing data from yahoo ? is it only me ? there has the problem by the way great work :-) the problem seems to be when refreshing it mess up with the comma seperators on the yahoo sheet

I don't have any problems updating from yahoo.

Has it ever worked properly?
Which country settings do you have for your computer, is it period "." for decimal point, and comma "," for thousand separators? (just a guess for this one)

Anyone else having problems using yahoo?

Both Yahoo and MT4 are working. Thanks guys.

I did notice one MT4 issue. If you look in the eurjpy price field the formula ends with "EURJPYD". That appears to be a typo causing it to show "N\A" instead of a price.

It can be easily fixed in Excel using Tools --> Macro --> Visual Basic Editor. You should delete the inproper "D"s two cases from the end of EURJPY.
