DislikedHello Traders: I'm starting this thread to share my experience and learn from you. After few years trying many tools, strategies, instruments with up and down results, I finally embraced the life principle: keep it simple! From all instruments, I found Nasdaq is the best one in terms of liquidity and volatility and where you can make quick and important rewards. So this thread is preferably reserved for NQ and to lesser extent all other indice ops. The strategy is very simple: 1- I trade mainly NY Session. I trade both Spots and Futures. 2- Identify...Ignored
DislikedTrading Initial Balances The concept of initial balance comes from market profile theory, developed by J. Peter Steidlmayer and the Chicago Board of Trade in the 1980s. The initial balance refers to the price range established during the first hour of trading (or sometimes the first 30 minutes, depending on the market). This opening period is considered significant because it represents the first opportunity for all market participants to react to overnight developments, news, and order flow. The range created during this time serves as a benchmark...Ignored
DislikedIs that possible? Yes. Years ago when I retired I was looking for something to do. I attended a free local presentation about trading FX. My mind said "We can do that and make money too... from the recliner"... so the torture began as happens to all newbies... I bought one sure fire program for $2,300... saving $1,700 off the normal $4,000 price. Man... I'm on my way I thought. It was so difficult to understand and trade that I never made a dime... in fact I lost most of the time. When I called the companyit was all Greek to me... I thought a lot...Ignored
DislikedWhen price is above an open, it is up. Conversely, when price is below an open, it is down. It is a good idea not to short when price is up and not to buy when price is down. Naturally, most traders look for reversals but are impatient and trigger happy thus buying when they should be selling and vice-versa. A sell below the H1 open of the bar immediately following the bar making the highest high would have resulted in profit. In summary, a bar makes a high and closes. Next bar fails to make a higher high and reverses. Sell when price drops below...Ignored
DislikedHi guysEDIT february 2026 : It’s been almost 9 years since this thread was created. Over those years, I’ve gradually moved toward very short-term intraday trading. Starting in 2026, my trade posts will follow my hybrid method based on a moving average setup for very low timeframes, and Ichimoku for everything else. On Dax 40 only. => The method: * https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/post/15567830#post15567830 *https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/post/15572586#post15572586 *https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/post/15572695#post15572695...

DislikedHey traders, I’ve been a bit tied up over the past couple of months with family commitments and other priorities, so I couldn’t post my usual Gold analysis here on FF. If you’re keen on trading XAU/USD during New York hours, you’re more than welcome to join the discussion and share insights. Let’s make this year both profitable and entertaining together. DislikedWhere's the Edge? {image} After spending many years lurking on trading forums, looking at hundreds, of systems and strategies, I always have been left wondering, where is the edge? The system looks great. The chart is a work of art for Pete's sake. The ideas and logic behind the entries and exits sound logical, but the edge is never seen. All too often, it's nowhere to be found. Some people argue it's in risking less than you stand to make. But simple math easily debunks the idea that a particular risk:reward ratio alone can give you an edge. Technicians...Ignored

DislikedHello traders, I am not sure if there is a separate thread specifically opened for posting High reward/risk trades. If so, please direct me there and I will delete this thread. You have to make a trade call which you think will have a higher Reward:risk ratio. Following are rules I can think of. Please give some logical suggestions if they need to be adjusted. Rules: You have to post a trade call in the form of an image, before the trade gets triggered or at the moment when you enter to the trade. Taking a screenshot of the trade call and posting...Ignored
