I believe there’s a need to discuss order distribution — how you scale into your position as price reaches your POI.
Why is this important?
Because sometimes price returns to your POI with strong momentum and high volume. When that happens, it’s not always wise to enter with your full position immediately. Instead, you distribute your orders.
For example, if I plan to trade 1 lot:
Why is this important?
Because sometimes price returns to your POI with strong momentum and high volume. When that happens, it’s not always wise to enter with your full position immediately. Instead, you distribute your orders.
For example, if I plan to trade 1 lot:
- If price taps into my POI with large volume and strong momentum, I’ll enter with a partial position first.
- Once price confirms direction and volume aligns with my bias, I’ll add the remaining position.
However:
- If price approaches my POI slowly, with weak or controlled movement, I may decide to enter the full position at once.
Order distribution helps manage risk, control exposure, and adapt to market conditions rather than forcing a fixed entry style.
