I have changed lot size to 0.03 and had both buy & sell orders. every thing else is default. I should have closed mt4 after the nice profit. market took it all back with a little bit of my help. Will try again tomorrow, only I will take the early profit and then pack up for the day. Running it on cold and silver

I noticed that the ea is placing the stop-lose some times but not on every trade. some times it even trailed the stop. not sure why that would be. I am running windows 11 with mt4 version 4 build 1443. Many years ago I had a ea coded for me and it work ok
at the time on windows 7 but, today on this new computer with windows 11 it will not load. Maybe this is where to problem is.
Your thoughts on this would be appreciated

which version are you testing now?

some older ea no longer working with latest mt4, maybe depending on the coding format or syntax. the Gold investment ea is from an ea from 2008.

2 days to plan for next week. the platform has been frozen when market is active, but ea is working, can only monitor from other pc. need to prepare main pc for next week to ensure the platform is not frozen again during active hours. need to do a backup and revised ea as needed.

this week collection. some of the stats are stupid, don't know how it is calculated.

in other pc, 6 charts open, no ea running, for monitoring and manual entry/exit, seems no problem of freezing platform.

for main pc, testing with only 4 charts open, 2 for gold, 2 for silver, only 1 ea running on gold, will see if it is ok when market open monday morning.

i mean, which ea are you testing/running now that given the above result. then i may check the coding if there is a problem or not with it.

just completed updating another version. planned for single entry per day. 1 ea on, off all other ea. hopefully the platform not frozen again.

an indicator was found to caused the platform to freeze. not using it anymore, need to look for replacement. gold investor trading has been nice this week so far, gold in bullish for now.

yesterday collection. a 2000pips drop ny session after news. high 5100, low 4878. more manual entries than normal yesterday.

small lots frequent by ea, and some slightly larger lot manual entry aiming for reversal after big move of more than 1000pips like yesterday when there is news, or 200-500pips drop during no news period, using stoch on m1 and m5.

fryday collection, not bad. low 4885, high 5045, 1600pips.
using limit entry per candle, less entries, less possible floating, less possible profit. after ny news seems to be able to see the price is going up, buy manual at every 100, 200 pips dip, scalping. only 72 trades.
margin used for trading silver is high, not worth trading it, this is how the black market controlling silver price.
