Yeah...............that is the whole point to this entire site...collaboration and testing to try and figure out if we can make money at this shit.

I am trying to optimize the Gold 1M chart and will be presenting something later this week along these lines.

But we only have 1 person testing this as far as I can see... Others seem content to just blow smoke and heckle.

If this is not for you then go away ( I mean this generally) or test it on a chart and TF that appeals to you. And CONTRIBUTE!!!!!

Wanted to share my experience with this EA. I've been running it on a live account with USDJPY, AUDUSD, and EURUSD, but it struggled during normal sessions and ended up in the red.
Today, I tried it again in a ranging market with default settings (only adjusted the stop pips), and it’s finally showing a profit. My takeaway: this EA performs best when the market is sideways and lacks a clear trend. Hope this helps!

We have here something rather seldom - a strategy that works best in ranging conditions. How do we see that a market is ranging? Of cause using the eyes, but the robot does not have eyes. For the robot we can use the Bollinger Bands. When they are narrowing, then the condition is ranging. I have programmed some indicators which people might investigate.

The RFSqueeze
When the Bollinger Bands falls inside the bands of a Keltner Channel, then things are ranging.
The indicator can draw the channels or you can draw only the marks that shows the ranging condition.
If interested, then play around with the setting.

The SqueezeBBK_mtf_1
Same tool as above, but telling the state of multiple timeframes. The more timeframes are ranging, the better are the chances to have a continuing ranging condition.
One way of using it is to select the most ranging instrument in a badge to play with.

I have also my Bollinger Momentum tool. I will tell about that later.
All these tools have been made for other threads than this one, but I don't know if you would find them interesting.
I will share the code if a programmer want it. But first discuss if it is interesting enough to code it into the robot.

Here it is even more important to play with the parameters.

When the bars are dark red, the bands are widening and when dark green, they are the widest they have been within the look back bars. Maybe it is not wise to trade a ranging strategy here?

Most ranging is the light red bars.

I am not sure if you will find those tools helpfull. Just wanted to share.

Just a bit more info: The 15,000 pips risk is based on 1.5 * ATR(50) on H1. With a 0.5% risk on my $2,000 account, I’m trading BTCUSD at 0.01 lot.
I’ve been testing this since the first hour Realblank shared it. While long-term backtests on several pairs ended in losses, I still went live because I see its potential. I don't think it’s a 'plug and play' EA; it just needs the right environment to shine.
It might work best using RiskFighter’s suggested indicators, range detectors, or low ADX on higher timeframes. Just sharing my actual experience—I’ll go back to following the thread quietly now!

Low ADX is a very fine idea.

I've posted the .set file which is the settings Cfudge suggested in post #183. Possible there is a time difference offset between their setup and mine but to me it looks like some sort of trend filter is needed as very big moves don't tend to do well for mean regressing methods

Yes. I have suggested some trend filters. And Lucas suggested the ADX filter. That is very easy for the programmer to implement.

Still, I am puzled about the difference between your profit and Cfudge's profit.

Yes, this is why we test
Hopefully the programmer can integrate some of your filters and have the EA stand aside during very volatile conditions such as the last couple weeks on metals

FF is a wonderfull forum for exchanges experience, but it is hard to get people to really contribute. It is to easy to just download everybody elses work. And nothing good will come out of it. Only when working seriously with a strategy like this, will make it profitable for a trader. So 99% of downloaders will get nothing from the strategy and the robot.

We need somebody to confirm Cfudge results. That is not happening now. I hope that the robot I am working on (not part of this strategy), will be ready for running forward test on monday. That will free some time for this strategy. If so, I will make a setup exactly like yours on monday. Only when your succes is dublicated, it is possible to further develope the strategy as a team, because then the robots are working syncronized at more people. We can talk about a Main Setup, which is the basis we are working from.

Robots must be in sync and from that state people can experiment. Experiments that does improve profits, should then become part of the main setup, which is the basic for further experiments.

People running different setups will lead to confusion and results will be harder to benefit everybody.

This is my experience as a professional Software Project Manager for 35 years.
