You make good points. However, the way I see it is this way. When something goes up so much in a short amount of time, the correction is often brutal. You’d usually see weeks or months of consistent upward movements but all it takes is a day or two to drop more than 10%. Whatever goes up crazy will drop even harder, you just need to be ready to take advantage. That’s why I’ve been shorting Gold since late December hoping to catch a day like today or yesterday but unfortunately lost close to £20k doing so. I just timed it completely wrong thinking there was no way it could carry on pumping the way it was for weeks. The big players are also aware that us retail traders are mostly going long and they sensed an opportunity to destroy us.

I’m honestly not surprised with this correction at all. It is necessary and healthy in any case and my hope is that we close around 49xx today. And if we do, my strategy is to go long next week (of course depending on the geopolitical situation during the weekend)

I found a nice spot to scalp and traded it loads for good profit then it started breaking range and my setup kept getting triggered into bad trades and now I’m a stones throw away from my daily loss limit. That’s where impatience gets you. See you next week.

Never ever thought we’d see a 6000+ pips movement in a day. Just regretting taking profits yesterday when I shorted from 5590. But can’t be too mad, it could have been much worse I guess
