Off topic, but what is found in the study in the second link is supported by economic theory. Of course. No surprise to anyone except to those preaching heterodox economics in the MAGA corner. This has been discussed a few times here, but is always worth repeating.

Donald is the problem, how can you lower interest rates with a unpredictable bully at the helm.
Debt is rising, tariffs don't work they will isolate America - allies all making trade deals elsewhere, it's happening now oh Orange one!

Unfortunately, to the market, an attack on Powell is the same as an attack on the independence of the Fed.
The President has no business intervening with monetary policies.
It erodes confidence and puts unnecessary pressure on the people responsible for monetary policies.

Anyone thinking Powell is the problem needs to actually learn how our economy works and why we NEED separation from elected officials and the money that the country prints. The last chance Trump has to win votes in his favor during the midterm is by winning over voters with low rates and he's running out of time since nothing will change until May and it will be a sign of weakness to the rest of the world if we lower more than 0.5% each FOMC even though trump wants us to be at 1% which will make inflation skyrocket. Our GDP isn't the true sign of our strength as a country, jobless numbers are and we are failing. Our GDP is being held up by NVIDIA who has a terrible PE ratio which is extremely shaky to rely on.
