    China’s yuan touched a new 32-month high against the US dollar on Wednesday after Beijing guided its currency higher as global greenback selling intensified while Chinese exporters’ seasonal settlement needs continued. The yuan strengthened to as much as 6.9449 against the US dollar, the strongest level since May 15, 2023, before easing to trade at 6.9457 as of 0330 GMT. Its offshore counterpart was little changed and traded at 6.939 yuan per dollar. The gains followed a sharp drop in the greenback overnight. That is the trillion-dollar question.

With prices moving parabolically like this, the disconnect between "paper gold" and physical reality is always a concern. I live in Thailand where physical gold is a huge part of the culture, and even here, the market sentiment feels very feverish right now.

Whether it is a boom-and-bust cycle or a true paradigm shift, we retail traders just have to be careful not to get crushed by the whales. "Equality" sounds nice, but in this market, usually the big players eat first!

That would hurt their exports in a economy that is based mostly on exports. They won't let that happen imo. Unless there's some weird 5d chess move.
