For now 1.1600/15 is a strong zone and bulls might test 1.1660 one more time but below 1.1550 +/- should be next.

The EUR/USD closed lower this week after it failed to hold the 1.1700 level, which has now become resistance. The pair closed below this level and dropped to 1.1618, where it is consolidating after the close. Next, I'll look for a correction higher toward 1.1683 before a drop lower. However, if the downside continues without a retrace/correction, the 1.1600/15 support zone must break, and the 1.1541/55 levels should then be targeted.

Weekly volatility (range) 83 pips

Significant news - US CPI, US PPI, US Retail Sales, US Initial Jobless Claims & US Industrial Production

I do think it has to rebound a little, and then it could continue its descent.
It could revisit the 1.1700.
Risk Management is of utmost importance!

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY WEEKEND!!!
H4:The EUR/USD reached a target area (OB) in a slow manner, the MACD has moved flat and is weakening.
H1:A hammer candlestick pattern is rejecting my target area (OB H4) and remaining above the level, without apparent intention.

  1. The MACD is about to turn from red to green and is close to forming a bullish crossover.
  2. We have a bullish divergence in the MACD and RSI, plus oversold levels prior to the divergence.

MY CONCLUSION
Between Sunday and Monday, I expect the price to give a corrective impulse, to test my resistance at 1.16715 and continue the decline; If all this fails, I speculate that we will drop to test 1.15933 to decide whether to continue falling, or if the trend will change.

I am myself clueless how the markets will react to this Greenland news. I suppose safe haven will be bought... so jpy and chf will be bought which means euro will rise against the dollar.. again I am not sure

I'm seeing a large level of sell market orders at 1.1610-1.1605. Large bids at 1.1600.

I'll be entering a buy limit order at 1.1600. Targeting 1.1725. Stop Loss at 1.1350. (2:1 Risk:Reward).

we had the bounce earlier than I thought it will.

1615-17 area or even 1580…. But we didnt get there

The EUR/USD rose to 1.1671, just pips below the 1.1683 resistance level, driven by market news. It is now looking to break that resistance and advance toward 1.1700 for a test.

Sellers must keep the pair below 1.1700 so that Friday's low and 1.1615 can be tested. 1.1600 should be reached if a break below 1.1615 happens.

EURUSD H1
trendlines, pattern

R zone: 1.16986 – 1.16845

  1. this is the last LH distribution area before BOS DOWN
  2. a sell-off impulse took place here
  3. it lies below the H4 CHOCH 1.1720, so the context remains bearish
  4. this is a retest from below (S → R flip)

Practical interpretation:

  1. reaction / rejection = bearish continuation
  2. H1 close ABOVE 1.16986 = risk of CHOCH UP
  3. a wick alone is not enough, the close is what matters

Scenarios

Scenario 1 – H1 close ABOVE 1.16986
CHOCH UP forms (H1)
the market shifts into an H1 corrective / neutral mode
Where price can go:
1.1720 (H4 CHOCH DOWN level)
1.1740 – 1.1750 (H4 LH / supply)
this is the MAXIMUM of the correction, as long as nothing changes on H4

Scenario 2 – rejection + close BELOW 1.16845
the R zone holds
continuation of the downtrend
targets remain lower

Can we go EVEN HIGHER than 1.1750?
NO, unless:
an H4 candle closes ABOVE 1.1720 – 1.1750

Only then would:

  1. a CHOCH UP (H4) form
  2. space open up above 1.1750

H1 allows us to move toward 1.1750, but only H4 allows us to go higher.

Current range (while we are BELOW the R zone):
1.16434 – 1.1700

My zones are just a little different, but yes, all in all, it is an order block sitting up there where price stopped. Looks like another bite into the orders up there is taking place.
