Well this CF system is awesome and thus far we have 14/0 in trades with signals from 30/60 min charts. I might not be setting the world on fire with amount of pips won, but consistancy might be important to trading. I've yet to trade the 5 min chart but once and did not feel right. I would say 95% of trades taken were off the 72mm signal line. If a signal hit and the chart action looked strong the trigger was pulled.

Well please don't think of this as bragging as this is not my intent. I'm a newby and so I've been excited to have found something that makes sense to me. I will chill out as most posts on this forum over the last week has come from me.

I owe the author of this thread a huge thanks!!!

Please keep posting. I think most of us are interested in what other's are doing with CF.

Great work Bunton! Slow and Steady increases the account. Don't worry about the large runs (those will come in time if you so decide).....20 pips here and 20 pips there...adds up fairly quickly.

Keep posting,...it's always good to hear how someone is doing.

Hello friends,

I have been reading the first few pages of this thread and sounds interesting. I am sorry to say that I did not quite get the entry and exit criteria (with the metaphors introduced by a respectable member) I got even more confused!

Can I please request one of you to kindly give me the simplest entry and exit criteria based on the EMA positions? Is this similar to the 5/12/18/28 EMAs thingy?

From the charts I was not sure how some of you were entering /exiting the trade. To state it simply, may I state it here and may be one of you could confirm /correct me:

Go Long when:
a) 8,12,24 EMAs are above 72 EMA.
b) All three EMAs (8,12,24) are showing the same direction in their trends.
c) Price is between 12 & 24 EMAs.

Reverse for Shorts...
TP could be 20 pips?
SL could be 10-15 pips?

Again, apologies for posting something that dumb here but I could not resist asking this ... esp. since reading 50 pages would take a while and the first few pages seemed like everyone here was all-knowing and I was the only stupid person around .

apume, I think you got it but it might be worth your time to read Lever's pdf file. It will not take long to read it. You can save the pdf file to your desktop and continue to review it. She even has charts in it with great examples.

Not sure if this is correct or not but I have 6 pairs on my screens and how some of then act determines what I do when getting a signal. I also like looking at short term s/r areas. She did mention that in the pdf. Really take the time to read.

Mike, just beginners luck. My dog woke me up late last night and so I flipped on the pc and liked what I saw in AUD/JPY. I was joking with my wife and said my dog can wake me up anytime when she thinks the market is getting ready to move..hehe

Hi

I am very new to forex a have been watching this thread and it looks like this is where I want to be. With the meaning of whipsaws explained to me clearely by the market I think now I have adopted a bad habit which is fear, which replaced my greed. However I have evry reason to believe that cornflower is the answer to all my questions concerning this big market.

Just a few question I'd like some clearity on then I guess I'm my way to removing that fear which is preying on me day in and day out. Like I said I very new so please excuse my questions if they are that out in the open.

On the first chart there're few pullbacks then the tend resumed, now my question is: what do I do if price doesn't pullback to 12 and 24 EMA's do I leave alone? Because as you can see where I marked it didn't go as far but it resumed and moved enough for profit taking.

On the second chart, do I leave it alone and wait untill it starts getting the pullbacks? If you don't mind I'd like to full understand if this case is which one would say I wait untill price moves with authority above/below 72 EMA

Hopefully I was on the right track, but if I'm please feel free to puul me back.

Looking over my pairs I notice a sideways range and so this tells me to do nothing today and await for the market to make a move.

I've also placed any 30min signals on hold until the next TF gives direction.

I could be wrong as we all view the playing field with different perspectives, but it has been a fact for me in the past that when I look for something my mind plays tricks and lets me see what isn't as if it is. This always cost me money in the past when trading equities.

I didn't take that trade, I also thought as much, just look at how bad the chart looks, I hope it wasn't fear keeping me out, as I am still new.Thanks again bunton, and you were right if you it's not too much to ask I was hoping you could help me follow this baby, I just want to see how am I doing so far. FX_Lane, I would rather not do this as you would not benefit. Study the CF and follow the plan. you might alter things to your taking and style. I just don't think following leads from forums teaches you how to trade. In fact 100 people could take the exact entry using a system and get very different results. Some would win and some would lose. Point is find what you are comfortable and run with it.

Since I'm talking about systems most newby's (ME) will not give a system enough time to run through different conditions. They might make a few bad trades and think the system is no good. It is not the system probably but market conditions. Next they jump into another system and the cycle repeats over and over again. This has a negative effect on capital and happens more often then we think..

As for not trading it has been said that cash is a position and nothing wrong with staying in cash if you see things don't look right with your pairs. We don't need to trade everyday and it happens I was off from work today and did not take a single trade. This tells me I might be learning discipline. If we as traders can exercise a little discipline we might be better off in the long run...

I see it has passed through my M2 pivot point at midnight (ET) last night and is currently testing the CPP (central pivot point.) That's a 70 pip rise, and we still don't know which direction it is going to take when it breaks out of the Bear flag on the Daily chart.

Cornflower suggests it is going to keep going up. The 8 and 12 ema"s are running a little close on the 15M and 5M for me, so I'll wait to take an entry.

This is third time i have read thru this thread.... but a stil don't get it. I stil don't understand when to enter a trade.

It seems to be very discrationary.... to say at least.... almost like the EMA's just showing the direction and "go-with-the-flow-when-ever-you-want".

I have read about bouncing of the 24 ema etc. But when? Shall i take position before the candle is closed? Seems strange to me anyway...

I'm intresteed in the conservative entry...

So i need the price to move into the area of 12 and 24 ema. But then what? Shall i just take a long position no matter what (if 8, 12 and 24 ema is over 72 ema) or shall i wait for the candle to close... and if it closes... then what...

As you can see i really don't understand how to trade this system. I do like that it's not mechanical, but there must be able to get more clear entry rules?
i.e: What to wait for berfore the correct sets up?
What to wait for when there is time to take the position.


Please some one... help me out here or do i really need to abandon this system?
I really would like to try this system out....

Here is an example as I interrupt the CF. we have USD/CAD it flagged a buy signal (aggressive) off the chart on the left. Now if you did not buy off the 30min chart you do nothing. The 1hr chart still does not have the proper EMA’s set up. Once the 24ema gets above the 72ema we now have a qualified uptrend and one can look to get long on a pullback. As for exact place to do so is up to the trader. So I think yes this system is discretionary. You decide if and when you get in based off the latest info you have on your charts. Can it be set up mechanically? Not sure as I would not do it.

You can find the link to the PDF document that BStar compiled on the Cornflower system (complete with charts) in post #746 or another link in post #747. They are on page 50 of this thread.
