Technically gold is moving inside a triangle style compression which means price can break in either direction. Fundamentals are still supportive but there is uncertainty around the Fed and the dollar. So instead of a clear buy or sell the smart approach is to watch the key levels (4000 support or 4100-4150 resistance) and wait for a clear breakout.

Whats Been Driving Gold and Why Its in a Range

  1. Because there is no clear dominant driver right now (rate cuts are expected but not guaranteed ,dollar direction undecided, geopolitics uncertain) the safe scenario is range continuation.
  2. If you are monitoring for a trade or position:

    1. Consider entering on a clean breakout above 4100 with conviction (higher probability of bullish move).
    2. Or consider using stops if price falls below 3950, a break might turn into a sharper drop.
    3. If you are not ready for volatility you might wait for either a breakout or breakdown before committing.

Key Levels to Watch

  1. Support: 3950-4000 zone breaking and closing below this could open downside flows
  2. Resistance: 4100-4150 a break above could signal a bullish trend extension
  3. Catalyst triggers: U.S economic data (employment, inflation) statements from the Federal Reserve U.S. dollar strength-weakness and geopolitical gold flows
  4. Strategy: Until a clear breakout happens the safest stance is caution entering new large positions may carry higher risk if the triangle compresses further

What Could Happen in the Coming Days
Gold continues to trade in a range (or drifts slightly higher) as the market waits on further signals. If rate cut expectations materialize and geopolitical risks persist gold could break upward again.

  1. Upside Scenario: If the Fed signals deeper cuts real yields go down further or geopolitical tension escalates gold demand could surge pushing gold significantly higher. Some macro analysts see potential for a strong bull case
  2. Downside Scenario: Better than expected U.S economic data or surprise hawkish comments from the Fed could lead to a pause or reversal in gold flows. In a risk on scenario capital might shift out of gold.

Sold from 4085, since it's not acting as a support on 4085-4090. Let's see how it will play out. Not sure with the weird movements today haha. Expected a lower low earlier.

It's more volatile because there's no better story when it comes to the fundamentals. Holding 4K really well too, so I have absolutely no problem buying at this level
