Did some ES rocky/roadmap hybrid sim trading after I hit my daily profit target in my money account. Followed with an NQ M30 ORB short.

Unless they were waiting for their favorite 37 flavors of indicators to confirm.

Bar by bar trading is the simplest. Levels to levels adds accuracy to stop losses and take profits.

Simple indicator packages such as Laura's roadmap are solid is used as she instructed.

VWAP and volume profile have advantages, especially for the "jack be nimble" scalper.

But focusing on fixed bars and opening ranges is the simplest money I have found in my years in search of my own non-existent holy grail.

If your plan is to trade the Mebob breakout you made the .618, yes. If you wait for the close above Mebob high then you'd be buying to go long AT the .618 target.

That is why I switched to buying/shorting the mebob break and not waiting for the break and close. I think I actually mention this is that video I posted from this morning.

Another SIM trade video but my thoughts and ramblings with respect to the nature of trading plans and my understanding of them came to me more clearly than ever before, I believe. If you are not a consistently profitable trader, this is one video that I'd suggest you hit play, and watch it all the way through to the end. Take notes.

Tonight I received a private message in which I was asked "can you tell me how you trade NQ?

I made this video a few days ago and posted it here in this thread and it literally shows anyone who wants to learn exactly how I trade the NQ (and any other fixed bar instrument for that matter).

I just learned tonight that youtube makes available to me "analytics" for each of my videos.

This was an eye opener for me:

Only 60% of those who click on the video are still watching after 30 seconds in lol

And the average viewer completes only 21.1% of the video!

I wish I had had someone record this information for me 20 years ago when I was starting out. But then maybe I would have been one of those who moved on to something else after just 30 seconds. Maybe I would have made it 1/5th of the way through and then decided there were not enough indicators lol.

That video, and the few videos I have posted since, have everything anyone needs to turn from failed trader to profitable trader. Can you spare 36 minutes and 26 seconds to learn how to make $10K per week? Will you do it next week? Probably not. But you could be doing it in less than a year, and perhaps a lot less than a year. But not if you only watch 30 seconds.

To everyone: I would prefer that you ask your questions here in the public forum Pricebob thread. I do try to answer all private messages, but so many ask the same things over and over again. Just post them here. If it is a question for you, it is probably a question for many others.

This is my response to a follow up message I received in response to my post last night:

1) Start with a fixed bar trading plan.
a. select your instrument, the bar interval, and the precise fixed set up bar
b. select a fixed stop loss that is tied to the range of the set up bar
c. select a fixed take profit that is tied tot he range of the set up bar AND is reached before the stop loss at least 60% of the time based on your back tests.

2) I define the reversal bar technique very precisely. If you do not understand it, try writing out the definitions I give and then study the market until you learn to recognize reversal bar set ups in real time. You don't need both trading plans.

Start with fixed bar, months from now, or years from now, you can add the reversal bar strategy. And to be honest, fixed bar is all you need. You don't even have to add the reversal bar strategy.

Out of curiosity I marked up some SP500 trades using Vidvads opening 30 minute bar ( 8am UK time and 2:30pm UK time)
Remember his take profit level?
Of course not all days are winners and maybe some techie could look back over twelve months but it seems their is merit in waiting and not being greedy?

I took this ORB trade from 7.30 - 8.00 am NY time candle. Put 2 orders buy stop and sell stop, buy order hit 61.8 level, worked like it says on the tin.

I do not sit out seeing how these trade go about, I used to take it off the table and get on with my day.

Just remember, it isn't promised to "work," i.e. to be profitable each and every trade. It is merely suggested that when I take that trade each and every day the over all result is profitable over every 20 or so trades.

Hey everyone, for the next 20 days I'll be posting my trade results for pricebob strategy. I trade on 30M timeframe and my first reference bar is 7.30 AM EST and second one is 9.00 AM EST. My target is 0.618 R. Maximum 2 trades per day on gold and nasdaq.

Thanks to Vidvad for everything that you are doing for this community.

Day #1: (Yesterday)

I've taken 2 trades:
1. NQ long: 7.30 AM fixed bar (Target Hit)
2. Gold short: 9.00 AM fixed bar (Target Hit)
